Nice course, but not too exciting. it was deserted bar 2 2 balls we saw and just a solid, but uninspiring parkland course. Would not play it again, but would not dismiss it to others who wished to play it. To use golf terminology - just a bog standard par.

Lovely course to play, though some fairways and greens do hold the water becoming very soggy. An enjoyable round, picturesque views, and a good test of golfing ability when the wind blows

lack of flexibility

A well kept course entering the winter months in a very attractive and scenic setting. Just the acceptable number of obstacles (trees, ditches and bunkers) to make the game fun and challenging. W are a group of 12 but only 5 of us came to play yesterday because we were told by the Pro
1) the café was closed - only proshop food available (sausage rolls, sandwiches, confectionery); our experience of this had not been brilliant.
2) we could not break the game half way through for lunch because we would unlikely be able to get back on. So we would have to play all 18 holes at once
3) we must not use their tables to eat our own food!
In fact, the food served in the cafe was ok, there would have been no trouble getting back on the course after lunch, crikey no one else was using the tables!

Only one temporary green otherwise fab! It's a pity as I would have liked more of our group to take advantage of the winter rate.

Used to be a member here, learnt the game on this course and was a club champion 7-8 years ago so my views maybe biased but here goes.
Not the best course in the area in summer, that goes to Ross down the road but from October-April this is hands down the best in the area due to the undulating sandy turf that drains well, a few people have said this course is too long but it only is when it's soft, it's 6700 yards off the whites but you get plenty of run so it's really not an issue. I've always found it an interesting test, it's wide open on most holes but depending on flag placement you still need to be precise, yesterday on hole 4 the flag was on the right side of the green so you want to be on the left side, on the left is 2 fairway bunkers and heavy rough, this is typical of the test you face. The only way to play it is to plod around and have a go if you stuff one close

Great greens, lovely scenery. Friendly atmosphere. Interesting mix of holes with some undulating, some tree lined and others with great views.

Challenging and rewarding course.

It was good to return after an absence of three years and find the course much improved under the management of Paul and Sarah. Most of the really long rough has been cut back, and the greens are in good shape, more subtle than I remember, and more difficult. It is a more interesting layout than most courses round here, few parallel holes and no crossovers. The many elevated tees give the course an open feel, with wonderful views of the border country.

Course in great condition, greens a little slow but again in great condition. Layout varied and some unusual holes with a number of long par fives that you need to be long on. Ladies let us go out before them and a men?s four ball let us through on the second hole, really friendly. Food excellent and we had a good laugh with the staff.

A great value and worth while course to play

A great course with variety as it is up and down and around hills, so good for the heart if you walk it, but not over taxing. The course is in decent shape for the time of year but i would say the greens are fairing better than some of the fairways right now. For what you get for the winter green fee is exceptionally good value for money and worth a visit. I regularly play here.
