Course was closed during the previous week when we were due to play because of rain but today it was in fantastic condition. Greens immaculate and very difficult to read. New rakes in the bunkers which are designed not to lie on the floor and get dirty, really good. Views are fantastic especially today when the weather was really sunny. Feels quite long in places and can be tricky. We had a club match in front of us, so pace of play wasn't the best but usually it is fine. Did not use the clubhouse due to the club match dining. Will play again anytime.

Course in excellent condition. fairways fast, greens immaculate and well watered, need to pay attention to the slopes. Bunkers have plenty of sand. Followed the ladies round and pace of play was very good. Views all round from most of the course. Fairways are wide enough to be kind to a wayward shot but pay attention to slopes and where the bunkers are placed. Clubhouse staff very friendly and an excellent breakfast was provided. Real value for money, especially with many courses inflating their prices.

Fast-running fairways, with a wide first-cut of rough cut to a length which allows you to find your ball. Penal rough if you're wide enough. Very well-maintained greens properly-watered. A good variety of holes. Always a nice welcome in both pro-shop and bar.

Really good course with a variety of challenges, some long and some with slopes and bunkers guarding the route into the green. Greens immaculate, the best we have played on for a long time, fairways and bunkers also in good condition. Pace of play was ok but a 3 ball in front were a bit slow with slight waits on nearly every hole, that said are round was 4 hrs for a 4 ball. Cost was very good in relation to some of the costs we are now experiencing on courses that are nowhere near as good. Nice views. Best all day breakfast we ever get and staff very friendly

lack of flexibility

A well kept course entering the winter months in a very attractive and scenic setting. Just the acceptable number of obstacles (trees, ditches and bunkers) to make the game fun and challenging. W are a group of 12 but only 5 of us came to play yesterday because we were told by the Pro
1) the café was closed - only proshop food available (sausage rolls, sandwiches, confectionery); our experience of this had not been brilliant.
2) we could not break the game half way through for lunch because we would unlikely be able to get back on. So we would have to play all 18 holes at once
3) we must not use their tables to eat our own food!
In fact, the food served in the cafe was ok, there would have been no trouble getting back on the course after lunch, crikey no one else was using the tables!

Only one temporary green otherwise fab! It's a pity as I would have liked more of our group to take advantage of the winter rate.

Used to be a member here, learnt the game on this course and was a club champion 7-8 years ago so my views maybe biased but here goes.
Not the best course in the area in summer, that goes to Ross down the road but from October-April this is hands down the best in the area due to the undulating sandy turf that drains well, a few people have said this course is too long but it only is when it's soft, it's 6700 yards off the whites but you get plenty of run so it's really not an issue. I've always found it an interesting test, it's wide open on most holes but depending on flag placement you still need to be precise, yesterday on hole 4 the flag was on the right side of the green so you want to be on the left side, on the left is 2 fairway bunkers and heavy rough, this is typical of the test you face. The only way to play it is to plod around and have a go if you stuff one close

Road trip to Herefordshire

South Herefordshire has been on my radar for a couple of years. However othercourses have just been closer living near Bristol.

I'm such an idiot for waiting so long.

The rolling fairways with its undulating greens with some very deep bunkers is a test of any golfers ability.

The course isn't particularly long but you won't be hitting every green either.

It has a good variety of golf holes, long, short, doglegs (left & right), up hill and down hill.

Despite it being an hour away it is definitely one I will be playing again.

Also ball washers (I'm trilled we're allowed to use them again).

Like every golf club it doesn't have any good cider in the bar but you will love the golf....

Twlight rate after 4pm is £12 which is a bargain in August we teed off at 4:48 and was in at 8:15. There was only enough light for 2 holes at a push extra by this point on the 19th of August.

Super course

I play here about twice a month with my son-in-law. The tees, fairways and greens are always in great condition, sometimes the greens are very fast. The course has the usual range of hazards - dog-legs, trees, bunkers and variable slopes - but no water hazards except on the last unless you slice horrendously. The driving range has tracker technology in each bay, very useful.

Course in good condition, bunkers even without raking were playable. Greens quite slow but in excellent condition. Views fantastic from all areas of the course, will always play here. Cost to play one of the best currently. Clubhouse staff are every friendly and provided one of the best breakfasts we have ever had. The only odd thing is that we were only given 1 card to note our scores down, this has happened since Covid has been around?

A challenging course with a very good variety of holes. Some of the fairway bunkers are very penal, and the par-5's need (for me!!) three very good shots to reach the green. Staff are very friendly and the condition of the course is very good. On top of all that, the views are fantastic and the pricing is very fair. Most enjoyable.

Mixed feelings on the South Herefordshire

I've played this course several times now and can't bring myself to like it despite it's several qualities. It's worth a try (you may love it!) but for me it's largely averahe quality course, a couple fo ridiculously long and difficult holes to par and some greens that are virtually unplayeable as their greens are hard and sloping resulting in lightening speed
