Used to be a member here, learnt the game on this course and was a club champion 7-8 years ago so my views maybe biased but here goes.
Not the best course in the area in summer, that goes to Ross down the road but from October-April this is hands down the best in the area due to the undulating sandy turf that drains well, a few people have said this course is too long but it only is when it's soft, it's 6700 yards off the whites but you get plenty of run so it's really not an issue. I've always found it an interesting test, it's wide open on most holes but depending on flag placement you still need to be precise, yesterday on hole 4 the flag was on the right side of the green so you want to be on the left side, on the left is 2 fairway bunkers and heavy rough, this is typical of the test you face. The only way to play it is to plod around and have a go if you stuff one close

Road trip to Herefordshire

South Herefordshire has been on my radar for a couple of years. However othercourses have just been closer living near Bristol.

I'm such an idiot for waiting so long.

The rolling fairways with its undulating greens with some very deep bunkers is a test of any golfers ability.

The course isn't particularly long but you won't be hitting every green either.

It has a good variety of golf holes, long, short, doglegs (left & right), up hill and down hill.

Despite it being an hour away it is definitely one I will be playing again.

Also ball washers (I'm trilled we're allowed to use them again).

Like every golf club it doesn't have any good cider in the bar but you will love the golf....

Twlight rate after 4pm is £12 which is a bargain in August we teed off at 4:48 and was in at 8:15. There was only enough light for 2 holes at a push extra by this point on the 19th of August.

Outstanding course in great condition - a great test of your game!

The course is in excellent condition and the greens all roll well and are wellwatered and will hold a well hit wedge. The views of the local Herefordshire and Welsh hills are stunning so it's a very enjoyable walk. The fairways are dry at the moment so getting lots of roll but you need to be long and accurate to score well as some of the hole have quite an uphill component. It has improve massively over the past couple of years and it now up there with the best locally - it's certainly more of a challenge than Ross or Burghill. If you have a godd round it's because you have played good golf as the course punishes bad shots. It should be on your list of must plays.

A great test of your ability - excellent Greens and a warm welcome

The Course is in excellent condition and the Greens have had much work - all are well watered and receptive to a well hit wedge. The course is long and several holes in particular (the 5th, 8th and 10th) all require good drives and second shots to get you to the green in regulation. The Greens roll well and the views over the surrounding countryside are stunning. Fairways currently a bit hard but after 4-5 very dry weeks that's understandable. Pace of play is good and its not in the least crowded. A real gem of a course in lovely countryside. Green fees are very reasonable for somewhere of this quality. Friendly and welcoming clubhouse and staff.

Course very busy when we arrived but we were allowed to go off the 10th tee and even with the Seniors match and Ladies on the course, the pace of play was great. Fairways and greens were in good condition but unfortunately the bunkers needed attention, so flat and compacted it was difficult to het the ball up and out. Clubhouse staff really friendly and providing 5 breakfasts eben with the Seniors due in very soon.

The course was in good condition for winter golf. The four ball price was excellent value for money and no temporary greens.

Wow! Played here a few years ago and didn't think a lot but the new ownership have clearly got the place heading in the right direction. Always was a long track with an inland linksy feel and was pretty dull but a few tees have been moved and the vicious rough is beautifully shaped to make the holes challenging and interesting. Hit your ball in the summer rough and it's a reload but there is plenty of room and you should be punished if you're that off line! Very impressed and a twilight round for £10 is outstanding value for this much improved course.

Excellent course. We haven't played much golf this year because of the weather so we were pleasantly surprised with the state of the course - fantastic condition and a thank you to the green keepers. Price very sensible, not overpriced as a lot of courses are these days. Greens immaculate. Views good from all areas of the course. Clubhouse was warm and friendly with good options, even gluten free and not overpriced. Will always play here.

Course was closed during the previous week when we were due to play because of rain but today it was in fantastic condition. Greens immaculate and very difficult to read. New rakes in the bunkers which are designed not to lie on the floor and get dirty, really good. Views are fantastic especially today when the weather was really sunny. Feels quite long in places and can be tricky. We had a club match in front of us, so pace of play wasn't the best but usually it is fine. Did not use the clubhouse due to the club match dining. Will play again anytime.

Course in excellent condition. fairways fast, greens immaculate and well watered, need to pay attention to the slopes. Bunkers have plenty of sand. Followed the ladies round and pace of play was very good. Views all round from most of the course. Fairways are wide enough to be kind to a wayward shot but pay attention to slopes and where the bunkers are placed. Clubhouse staff very friendly and an excellent breakfast was provided. Real value for money, especially with many courses inflating their prices.
