Golfshake Team ReviewIts ok if your a hotel guest but dont travel too far.

Fairways are a bit scrappy. Some of the greens are ok, other very poor. ONly went in 2 bunkers.

On the plus side the layout is very good. Very nice mixture of holes.
Some of the views are quite spectacular as well.

Take a buggy.

A good mix of quite playable par 3's and 4's with some really tough 4's and 5's. Quite hilly and plenty of blind shots. First time playing is tough.

Played this course a number of times and have to say it is one of the most challenging courses I have played. Very fast, undulating greens as well as plenty of very tricky tee shots and 2nd shots. 7th,8th,9th and 17th real stand out holes. Course currently just about playable after a couple of weeks of very heavy rain.

No real negatives, a touch pricey to pay and play but great value memberships. Poor reviews not really warranted and mainly based around the fairways sloping and greens being fast and undulating.

good course, very undulating i don't think there is such thing as a flat lie on this golf course! the greens we a bit bumpy and with the slopes on them this made it difficult to read putts. supurb views over the peak district and beyond and the mature parkland the course meanders through make for a very enjoyable round of golf.

I played Shrigley Hall for the first time last week, and loved it! From the friendly welcome in the shop, all the way to the final putt on the 18th, I had a great time.
The course possesses probably the best vistas in the county. On the 4th, you can see for miles over stunning countryside, whereas on the back 9, your view is straight across into the city of Manchester.
The course is challenging with some excellent holes, and the fairways were in pristine condition. I am already hoping to get back there again soon.

This is course that a really needs a buggy as a lot of the holes are a severe climb. On arrival we were told that no buggies would be out today because of water-logging on parts of the course. So we played on without the buggy and it nearly killed us. But that probably says more about our fitness than anything else. But if you're playing here, you need a buggy.

Anyway - the course - some very challenging holes and some spectacular scenery, especially on the first few holes. The course was in reasonable nick overall given the time of year and that it was apparently under 4 inches of snow the day before. There is a herd of deer living in the park and they had done some serious damage to a few of the fairways and looked like they had been holidaying in a couple of bunkers...

The staff in the club shop were helpful. And we got in here for £14 for 18 holes plus coffee

Many sloping fairways, inconsistent speeds on greens, many blind second shots. Also, I recommend a buggy as a few tees to green have 'heartbreak hills'.

Lovely layout, great in good weather

Having made it over the Peak District in the pitch black for an 8am tee time, this course looked impressive from the clubhouse. The first six holes are open, tidy and straight forward. From 7 onwards strap yourself in as they test your length off the tee, your ability to hit straight and avoid water, trees, ditches and more. Great layout and having played it once now, I would play some holes completely differently now I have walked them all. By the way, its a tough walk, but worth it. The greens were very fluffy when we played, needed a cut but thats about the only thing I could say against it. I will definitely come again, but only if I know the weather will be good as I imagine in windy wet weather this course could ruin you. Good toastie in the clubhouse and I am looking forward to an overnighter whenever the weather allows as at ?139 DBB and two rounds its a steal.

Brilliant weather for our overnight stay and two rounds of golf. Course in very good condition, signage could be a little better for visitors.
Overall a very good one to visit, I think we'll be back to have another go !!!!
