The actual course was very good, in lovely condition. A bit more signage indicating the next tee would have been nice, especially as there was some long walks in-between some holes. Also, with there being so many dog legs, a map of each hole on the tee indicating distances would have been appreciated.Reviewer Rating

Lovely layout, great in good weather
Having made it over the Peak District in the pitch black for an 8am tee time, this course looked impressive from the clubhouse. The first six holes are open, tidy and straight forward. From 7 onwards strap yourself in as they test your length off the tee, your ability to hit straight and avoid water, trees, ditches and more. Great layout and having played it once now, I would play some holes completely differently now I have walked them all. By the way, its a tough walk, but worth it. The greens were very fluffy when we played, needed a cut but thats about the only thing I could say against it. I will definitely come again, but only if I know the weather will be good as I imagine in windy wet weather this course could ruin you. Good toastie in the clubhouse and I am looking forward to an overnighter whenever the weather allows as at ?139 DBB and two rounds its a steal.Reviewer Rating

A poor experience
I've played a couple of times now and won't be going back with today's experience being the final straw.Pros
- The layout is a bit mad, so you'll definitely have 'an experience', as well as the views of the surrounding countryside. The pre-round bacon sandwich was great.
Cons
- It's expensive for what it is, compared to some of the other courses locally it's poor value for money.
- The layout as I mentioned above is either a bit mad or very bland, lots of back and forth golf, lots of blind tee shots, a few good holes but not enough to make the course anything other than a novelty, I can't imagine being a member here.
- Pace of play was rubbish, there was a big group out ahead of us, but there was no marshalling, we were waiting to tee off for 10 mins on every hole and ended up calling it off after a 2h45 front 9, when I went and let the pro shop know (as there were three groups on the tee at one point), I got the brush off.
- The condition was fine, not great, quite boggy in places but not too bad though compared to other courses locally at £25/£30 a round I'd expect better for £40.

Get a buggy!!
You need a buggy it’s a hell of a walk! So many blind shots and the course is massive so it takes it out if you.Tee boxes need plenty of work and the greens were very uneven some quick then others very slow.

Great value in excellent condition
Currently in superb condition, greens like lightning. Could just do with trying to tidy up a few bare patches on fairways and semi but great for the money. Good deals to be had and clubhouse does nice food.(Round played: Jun 2021 - Score: 84 Handicap: 10.6)

Interesting layout
Played here on 10th June 2021. Teed off at 1:30pm finished the round at 4:40 and bar in clubhouse closed - pathetic. We were informed by the pro that the bar closes at 4pm.The course itself is an interesting layout with most holes shaped. Tees and fairways in decent condition and the greens also appeared to be decent but they were very slow.
Don’t think we will bother playing here again.
