Sale Golf Club, played with golf society from work i found that the course was poor and untidy and in many parts poor condition, bunkers for a private course absolutely appalling especially the18th no sand at all, for the amount they are asking coupled with the condition of the course poor value for money, Altrincham far better for half the price

Whether its a conscious decision not to inform non members there were Eight temporary greens to play, having booked through the clubs own website, with no information regarding the course conditions, I don't know. On such a beautiful day with the obvious opportunity for ground maintenance to be covered previously, it was a shame a great looking course was effectively ruined for us. There are clubs vying for custom at the present time, and I would have thought the least that could have been done, would be to have the correct information on the availability of the full course. My playing partner was even thinking of choosing/booking the venue for a family golfing society event, which would have been for over thirty players. He's now booking elsewhere. Shame!.

Course has had a lot of work done this year. will be much much better 2017 as you would expect Sale to be. We played for ?10.00. SAy no more.

Bit disappointed that when I booked the tee time I was not told that most of the tees were temporary as they were relaying the majority of them. The rest of the course was OK although it was evident that the course had suffered significantly in the wet weather earlier in year. I am sure if you are playing in June then the course will be superb. That said it was an enjoyable round of golf, greens were in great condition and the welcome on the club house was excellent.

Course is usually nice but even though it was dry and has been for a week or so, had to play off mats which I don't like. Club house and shop closed on leaving also so no chance for the 19th. All in all a good course.

Course was in a good condition and was enjoyable to play. Greens are currently very bumpy with inconsistent grass growth where the tining took place. unfortunately it made putting very frustrating. Hcp 4 Gross 75

Centenary year and the ciurse is starting to look good. Greens were bumpy but should be excellent in the summer. Nice to see some new sand in the bunkers!

I have played Sale a few times with friends and still believe they have the best greens in the north west!
The course has been set up to reward good driving, but punish errant driving in equal measures. You don't need to be too long off the tee, position is key.
The 18th is a great final hole, especially in match play games. You need a good drive, short iron in, then have to put on one of the most testing and largest finishing grens in golf! Good luck!
