What the club says: 18 Hole Parkland Course dating back to 1913. Several course improvements over the years, including 18 new USGA standard greens have made the course at Northenden one of the finest in the area. Set in the Mersey Valley and protected by the River Mersey, Northenden provides an enjoyable test of golf in tranquil and picturesque surroundings.

Fantastic greens
Best greens played all year, nice and quick, if you set it on line it went in.Firm fairways, bunkers had a good level of sand. Will play again defo!

Society Day
Had a wonderful day at Northenden - all our members commented on the quality of the greens, for mid November they were exceptional. Warm welcome on arrival for brekkie and in the bar afterwards. Very playable despite recent rain, good mix of holes and ongoing improvements making the course better and better.Reviewer Rating

Brilliant course!
Lovely course, with very well kept greens. The fair ways are quite large and the rough is reasonable. Greens are amazing and are challenging!(Round played: Jun 2021 - Score: 92 Handicap: 21.1)

Slow going Sunday afternoon
A slow fourball held up twoballs and single golfers meaning a four hour + round. Course in great condition but could do with more yardage markers rather than 150 discs, also a recommended pace of play on the scorecard would help speed things up.(Round played: Aug 2020 - Score: 88 Handicap: 13.6)

Scenic parkland course

Played on a free four ball voucher won in a charity raffle. Good condition considering rain fall and the time of year. New clubhouse was very modern. New spike bar very good apart from the noise echoes, could hear older members in the corner complaining non stop about all sorts and even told us not to play here this time of year! Not a great advert for the club. Bar staff and pro very welcoming. Would recommend.

Playing in the autumn can be tricky on some courses, but not here. The greens staff were busy clearing the leaves and cutting the grass. It had rained heavily in the morning but the course was still very playable. The fairways were not very wide, but the semi rough was not too punishing. The trees on the edge of the holes provide definition, the river should not be in play on any hole. The course is noisy due to the motorway, but this is not a major downside.

MUST VISIT
Fantastic course, very welcoming pro. Must play. Drainage very good. Only complaint is that of the members inside the club. Very negative!.... even told me how poor they felt the clubhouse was! I think it is great!Reviewer Rating

Nice flat course, plenty of opportunities to score well. With all the recent rain they've obviously not had time yet to cut the fairways. The clubhouse is immaculate and the staff very friendly. Will definitely play again.

Frosty day, 8:40 tee time but had to start without a card as pro shop not open by then.Fairways in good condition, greens excellent. holes 6 and 7 not in play due to maintenance. Enjoyable round and good food afterwards.

Absolutely awful course. The greens had just been hollowtined and I think they forgot to use any sand. The fairways were like semi rough and the bunkers empty. Probably the worst condition of any course I have ever played and the scary thing is when I asked the Pro prior to going out he thought it was in great Nick!! Avoid!
