Great course
In great condition after some very wet winters. Sometimes not quite enough sand in some of the bunkers to get consistency in sand shots. But the greens are in great condition and the fairways too. Lots of variety in types of holes and a real challenge.Reviewer Rating

Couldn't find the club face, but the course was in great condition, really tight on every hole and tiny challenging greens.

Enjoyable first visit
Overall, a great round of golf. Very enjoyable course. Plenty of water hazards on the course and it has a canal bordering it in places too. Long and wide fairways which are largely forgiving.Greens are mainly true but well protected by sand.
Played it after a bout of heavy rain, so heavy going in places, but this did not spoil our enjoyment. Apparently, it's a different game when dry.
Biggest failing is that there was no food available in the clubhouse, after our round. Bizarrely, the kitchen is not open on Monday or Tuesday!

Nice course worth playing
Second time playing Sale GC. Friendly welcome in pro shop, good practice facilities outside clubhouse. Course in good condition, greens true if a little slow in places. Good layout all on the flat, one or two long par 4s that can upset a good round. Friendly welcome in clubhouse post round. Worth playing for sure.Reviewer Rating

Great course worth playing
First time playing at Sale, friendly welcome in clubhouse & pro shop. Good practice facilities. Course in great condition, greens true and good speed. Design is good as no one hole the same, need to think around a few. Nice & flat an easy walk round. Well worth playing, will be back for sure(Round played: Sep 2021 - Score: 76 Handicap: 6.3)

The best of the Mersey league courses
Played as part of the shell golf society.Friendly welcome by everyone. No issues ,straight off very good speed of play,despite people ahead. Course was in very good condition. Greens were super.
Flags had been positioned for a competition apparently so were tough. That said scored well.
I think the rough had been reduced from the last time I played but that's a positive as it aids speed.
Well worth the trip. Friendly staff and members in the bar afterwards,which is always a good sign.

Whether its a conscious decision not to inform non members there were Eight temporary greens to play, having booked through the clubs own website, with no information regarding the course conditions, I don't know. On such a beautiful day with the obvious opportunity for ground maintenance to be covered previously, it was a shame a great looking course was effectively ruined for us. There are clubs vying for custom at the present time, and I would have thought the least that could have been done, would be to have the correct information on the availability of the full course. My playing partner was even thinking of choosing/booking the venue for a family golfing society event, which would have been for over thirty players. He's now booking elsewhere. Shame!.

The jewel of the Mersey Valley
Excellent parkland course on the banks of the River Mersey. The course is a fair but good challenge and does not favour players with a fade or a draw, and is kept in excellent condition.The staff & members are very friendly, and the food & drink in the clubhouse is all very tasty.
If you haven't been, make sure you put it on your list and visit soon.

Lovely course and well worth a visit. Greens were in need of a cut but still very good. The whole course in general was really well presented and staff and members friendly.

Course in excellent condition, although some greens looked to have been recently worked on so a couple of them had grooves on them which is always a little disconcerting to putt over. However, no big effect, and sure all part of keeping them excellent. Some of the bunkers are very hard and need some work. Overall though, very good.

The course and layout was great but the greens needed rolling and mowing. It had been a wet week in the run up to our game so maybe we were unlucky, but this course is well worth a visit.
