Mr

A scenic heathland links golf course with panoramic views over three counties - this course is both a test of your golf & your fitness. The sloping fairways make good ball-striking essential to post a decent score.
Most of the Par 4's are not overlong but the well-kept greens are smallish targets & have subtle breaks to navigate.
Overall a thoroughly enjoyable course which will play well all year round.

Due to the course being around a SSSI the long grass rough won't be cut until the Autumn I believe. So don't expect to not lose balls. Otherwise it's a quality course & the winds that are often evident will help or hinder. I love the views & the challenge.

Great challenge

Was a wet and windy day for my first return to my home town club for over 40 years.
Warm friendly greeting at the club house where service was very good.
The course with its heathland grass, where the rough is tall but wispy, allows you to at least find your ball if offline. Hope to play there again.

Always a challenge in the summer months when the rough is fierce, but unique and fun to play as the rough only comes in if you are way, way wrong. Any course that has to openly advertise the rules about animal dung and sheep fences has to played.....

Very Hilly therefore the holes seem longer, scenic, lovely views , the ruff isn't to long and you should find your ball whether you can hit a clean shot out depends on your skills.
I will recommend and play this course again in the near future.

A unique 'links' course that is well worth a visit. Fantastic views and very peaceful once away from the first tee. The first tee is a good par 5 from the clubhouse...quirky but fine. The greens are immaculate, the fairways generous in the main, the rough punishes you by degree... That's fair. Some of the holes are 'wow' factor and genuinely feel good on first sight. Tough terrain in places and definitely better signage required. Good value if 2for1 or twilight.

Very good round to be had at a friendly club. Would certainly recommend and play again.

Crisp Winters day

Great course, well laid out and some really interesting holes. As most have said its very Hilly at points, the 13th is a beast to climb a well placed drive is needed to stop your ball rolling back down. We played in December and the course was in great condition, rough wasn't bad (but i could see how it could effect your card in the summer!) Only two Cons, was that some of the green placements in winter mean they are in permanent shade so on a cold day like we hard alot of hard frost. And also we had a very grumpy four ball behind us (moaning about speed of play when never really could keep up with us.) On whole loved the round and considering I'm an 18 hdcp i drove 2 greens...happy days. Watch out for the dogs one picked up my sons ball LOL

The Big Cut Back

An excellent course & plays very well in winter as drains so well. Not a patch of mud in sight. However, it’s lost all its character & jeopardy as all the rough has been cut down & back & I did well to lose a ball. Nevertheless weather was perfect despite cold & visibility ideal. Fairways very good & all the greens were better than you could expect. I counted 3 temp tees but that’s a minor whinge & remains my go to wet weather course in the South East.

Great Course

As a well below average golfer, playing for 10 months, managed to break 100 for the first time. The course can be friendly in places, with wide open fairways and few trees in bounds. Hole layouts were terrific, all different challenges and playing this course for the first time, it was a thoroughly enjoyable round. Greens were immaculate and other course users were very friendly. Glad to have avoided most of the bunkers - some of them looked quite steep and I?d have struggled to get out of them playing forwards. I didn't use off course facilities so marked a stock 7/10, which may be fair or unfair. All in all, really enjoyable course and I?ll definitely be back soon.
