What the club says: Royal Musselburgh Golf Club is at the start of the famous stretch of golf courses on the East Lothian coast, situated to the east of Musselburgh on the B1361, this picturesque parkland course is certainly worth the visit. The Club is the fifth oldest in the world originating at the 9 hole Musselburgh Levenhall links where the Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers, Royal Burgess Golfing Society and Bruntsfield Golf Club also played.

Stunning historic course
A simply stunning historic course set in fantastic surroundings. The 6th oldest in the world make this venue worth the visit and green fee alone. A nice test with lovely holes in very good condition. A gorgeous clubhouse, a simply stocked shop and practice facilities. A very warm welcome made the day very pleasurable. Must play.Reviewer Rating

Not too long so able to concentrate on accuracy rather than distance. Well laid out with many bunkers and trees. Professional and assistants friendly and helpful. Clubhouse welcoming. Practice facilities are good.

Very Nice Course

An absolute gem of a course
An absolute gem of a course steeped in history. All the facilities are first class. The course can be testy with tight shots and trees to avoid but very enjoyable. Well kept and designed and a real joy to play and for once the weather was kind so we had the best of this Scottish venue. Very welcoming and friendly staff.Reviewer Rating

The ultimate in golfing enjoyment
If you are in the area you must play the oldest course in the world and it is truly superb. A cracking parkland layout, great facilities, excellent clubhouse and very friendly staff made the visit one to remember. Nice holes and a good challenge, lovely day.(Round played: Sep 2021 - Score: 87 Handicap: 18.9)

Great parkland course
A lovely parkland course, set amongst trees. Quite forgiving course and not the longest but still a good test. The back 9 in particular are quite challenging with dog legs and rolling fairways to contend with. I went round in 90 which I was happy with seeing as I didn't know the course. Great Course.
Great Course and very friendly staff. Course in very good condition with a couple of exceptions. Bunkers need a bit work, hardly any sand in most and alot of stones throughout. Nice inland Scottish parkland
A nice inland Scottish parkland design course, very mature trees and rough to avoid, a little tight in places, some lovely shaped holes. A very majestic old fashioned style clubhouse, nice little shop. Very friendly staff and cracking food.(Round played: Sep 2019 - Score: 98 Handicap: 16.8)

Some interesting holes. Good greens
Forgiving course with some interesting holes. A few too many simple holes for me to give this a Very Good but enough variety to make it an enjoyable round. Particularly if you can get a good deal on green fees.Definitely favours those who can draw off the tee
