An absolute gem of a course

An absolute gem of a course steeped in history. All the facilities are first class. The course can be testy with tight shots and trees to avoid but very enjoyable. Well kept and designed and a real joy to play and for once the weather was kind so we had the best of this Scottish venue. Very welcoming and friendly staff.

The ultimate in golfing enjoyment

If you are in the area you must play the oldest course in the world and it is truly superb. A cracking parkland layout, great facilities, excellent clubhouse and very friendly staff made the visit one to remember. Nice holes and a good challenge, lovely day.

Great Course.

Great Course and very friendly staff. Course in very good condition with a couple of exceptions. Bunkers need a bit work, hardly any sand in most and alot of stones throughout. Rough need a bit work in a couple of places. Can't complain though especially in these circumstances with staff furloughed I'm sure the green keepers are doing the best they can

Fun finish to Edinburgh swing

Of the 3 courses we played in our Edinburgh swing this was the only inland course, although there were occasional glimpses of the estuary. Course was in good conditions greens played well, club house is rather let down by the extension which is a concrete block next to a mini castle!

Sixth oldest course in the world and what a let down, the royal status should be removed, etiquette of golf is none existing, people playing in vests come on.people playing on the wrong fairways no shouts of fore.the greens looked good but were rubbish to putt on,they were totally dead and slow.in my opinion the worst course I have played in Scotland.over played waiting on every tee box.

Tricky in places. The standout hole was the 14th 'Gully' hole.

Course was well presented for a winter play on a wet autumnal day. Both greens and fairways were consistent and well tended.

Very Nice Course

I'm a member here, love this course it's interesting and you have to try and place the ball asd any wild shot can be punished, there's a lot of good holes where once again you have to put the ball in the right area.

Great course

Love this golf course, always keeps me interested as you can easily be out of position, now that the sun is coming out a bit more it's looking better.
