What the club says: With Arthur's Seat as an attractive backdrop this nine hole parkland course is a beautifully prepared and forgiving course. It plays to its 2566 yards par 32, and the small tight greens make for accurate approach shots.

The signature hole is the long par 3 9th. This 198 yard hole requires a straight long iron, avoiding the front facing bunkers at 150 yards, the bunkers on either green side, trees on the left and OB on the right! The 9th plays up to a sloping green making it a great hole to finish on.

Course has been changed for the better. The 2nd par 3 is now almost the 3rd par 4 the 3rd par 4 is now a 100 yard par 3. The course is a perfect simple wee walk and is perfect if you just want to hit a few balls. However the price has gone up on this course over the last few years and I believe it's £12 a round for 9 holes whice is way too expensive for what it is. On that basis alone I wouldn't recommend it to anyone on less they were really wanting a basic few holes. I say this as someone who has a car and would rather travel to a full 18 hole course around Edinburgh where for £5/7 extra you would get more of a challenge.

Changed/"refurbished" recently, been last on my council courses list - now it's tidy, tee's finally looking proper (even some distance info), hopeless no 2 cancelled and instead 2 and 3 combined (long and very short). Really good one for beginners and not a wasteland anymore.

Small council course with limited holes - well maintained and OK for a quick round - nice signature hole at number 9 which is very tricky
Worth a look

good little council course - make sure you play off the back tees to provide a challenge -tight greens make this harder to score than you think!

nicely maintained course - ruined by people jumping on for free at the 2nd and dog walkers - even had a cyclist zoom right across me on the 8th tee once! Could do with a high fence around it.

Basic council course. Not badly kept by any means but not really good either, however, for the price you pay it's a good round to get you out playing.
