The whole experience has changed since I last visited some time ago. The course is now a proper challenge yet takes advantage of the fabulous Cornish coast scenery. Greens run well and the owners have re shaped some areas to good effect. Restaurant food is brilliant and the service there reflects the local welcome which was so badly missing under the previous owners. Seriously consisting bringing the family down for the summer.

Had my first taste of The Point last week as a members guest. Clearly a club in transition and the bar and particularly the restaurant are very smart and welcoming. Played on a wet day after the long, hot spell and greens and tees had clearly taken a battering as they were horrible and the bunkers were full of rubble and not sand! Greens were patchy and most annoyingly the fringes were either bare or long lush grass. The tee's were also baked hard mud with no grass and very unattractive. I appreciate this may be due to the unusually warm and then very wet weather but a slight reduction of the excessive £20 members guest fee would have softened the blow. Some lovely views and some interesting holes proves the potential however, based on this visit there is work to do.

Pro shop was a bit snooty. Course, fab, great brill. Some great holes in a stunning setting. Club house was friendly and food was lovely. Deffo worth a visit, need to treat guests a little better in the pro shop, yes we were tourists, but we were paying guests, live with it.

Very enjoyable with good variety.

High standard parkland course with a good variety of holes. The course was in good condition although the greens were a little firm and not very receptive which resulted in the ball running through on several ocasions. Tricky course in the wind as with most courses in the region. Bunkers here were very good in terms of placement and fluffy too! Very enjoyable course. Only negative would be the practice net by the 1st tee is dangerous! Any miss hits that strike the poles come back at you with speed.. I have a large bruise to prove it!

An absolute delight. A real gem of a course in superb condition from start to finish. It's a deceptively longer playing course than the yardage suggests with plenty of interest to keep you honest - fair bunkering, streams, OoBs, mature trees and some quite penal second cut and main rough. There are some nice touches - the dry stone walls, mounds and drop offs that make this a very attractive woodland/park course. My favourite holes started from the first par 5 6th hole which is long and blind, and the very pretty 7th par 3. The dog-leg 9th, and the valley 10th are also lovely, but certainly the S.I 1 14th is the loveliest looking and pretty tough - you have to thread your drive between two streams with OoB looming. The finishing holes are not amazing but still testing enough for a returning player like me and overall I had a dreadful round made up for by the stunning views and the friendly owner Jeremy. Well worth a visit!

Considering the weather over the last few months I thought the fairways and greens in particular were in very good condition - well done keepers. Club staff very friendly and only too happy to help.

Course I understand now under new owners and beginning to get into good condition as previously ( 2011/12 ) greens were a bit ropey. Staff found to be happy to help and friendly.

The Point, Polzeath

I was very impressed with the course, had no idea it was there, been staying in the area for years, it’s a great alternative to closer fat more expensive options.
Good test of golf, especially with a keen breeze, a lot of investment is evident, greens are good, bunkers are excellent, they even have sand in them, unlike our home county equivalents.

Club house is excellent, lots of room in and out, good beer and food, reasonable prices which around here is rare

Will defo be back again, give it a try.

Enjoyed our round at The Point

Four of us played pairs stroke play at The Point on Saturday. We really enjoyed our round of golf. The weather was good as we eased around the course with the use of buggies. We thought it was a challenging track and a fair test of golf skills. The buggies were in good condition, as was the course. Fairways, greens, bunkers were all well prepared well.
