What the club says: St Enodoc's Church course is a James Braid design that enjoys a justified reputation as one of the West Country's finest links layouts. It may not look it but the par 5 1st is one of the easier holes even if you have to thread your way carefully between the sand dunes. Pars are harder to come by on the long par 4 2nd and 3rd holes

Fantastic short but challenging course
I love this course. Every year when we come down to Rock I play it every day. Relatively quiet and compared to the Church course very good value.Reviewer Rating

Catch this place on the right day and you're in for a treat!!
Played in absolutley perfect conditions. Sunshine and a gentle breeze made this course incredibly playable and an absolute joy to play (albeit I didn't play great). Friendly atmosphere all round the place, the practive facilities were ideal for warming up your game, the course itself is exceptional. I might have been a little lucky as there was a competion played the previous week, but the fairways were immaculate, the greens were true and pretty pacey and the bunkers in tip top shape. This is a true course where you rarely hold a flat lie. If the rough is down then accuracy for the higher handicappers (like myself) isn't punished so much, however shoudl the rough be up, accuracey will be key as I found the greens were a little smaller than what I was expecting, although still sizeable enough. The scenery and backdrops are beautiful and the visual oncourse are both terryfing yet, invitable at the same time. A shocking shortgame around the greens let me down however my poor scoring didn't diminish, just how much I enjoyed this roudn of golf. Sure I might have felt otherwise had the wind been up and it lashing down with rain sideway, however it wasn't and I couldn't recommend this place enough. If I could only play on course for the rest of my days, St Endoc would 100% sit in my top 3... maybe even top!Reviewer Rating

Amazing course, well worth the visit
Played for the first time, having heard many good things. Lots of memorable holes and a great challenge as a golfer. If I could get off the tee or putt I may have put a good score together, but alas your whole game needed to get a good on here, but it is fair and the quality of the condition and design is up there. Not cheap but worth it.Probably one of the best 5 courses I have played in the UK.
Bar staff excellent as were all members of staff.

Holywell Course
This is very much a back up to the main Church Course. Played it for iron practice but it's a lovely layout in its own right and in fantastic condition. The tees, fairways, bunkers and greens are as good as any links I've played - the fairways being particularly lush and forgiving. The patrons are extremely well to do Old Boy, but the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. ?35 well spent and would pay ?110 for the Church course based on this experience.Reviewer Rating

Magical
Wow. This place is mysterious, with so many memorable holes. The golf course really makes you think. The back middle stretch (11,12,13) is a little lacklustre compared to the other amazing holes, but doesnt really detract from a special experience.
If you're coming this way for a golf trip, this is the course you can't miss.

A roller coaster of the finest quality
2nd time I've played it in 2 years. The course is great fun. no 2 holes a like. Some real traditional links holes on long 1st, 7th, 8th 16-18. And some really interesting holes where yoou ahve to navigate hazards like no other on 6 and 10 particualrly. The views from the topon 13/14 are like no other. We did the twilight after 4pm for £60 which is fabulous value for money. We didboth Sauntons the two days after and everyone enjoyed St E the most!Great practice facilities and food too.

Stunning - A Must Play
Absolutely stunning course is scenic setting. The whole place is special and in perfect condition.
Two or three tougher holes that can be very challenging depending on weather condition's but should be enjoyed by any player of any ability.
Great views on most holes and the way the course plays out is fantastic, some real quirkiness to it as well!

what views!
I always though Saunton East was my favourite all time UK course ...but now there is a challenger. The views of the estuary/bay are just idyllic. From the back of the tee on 12 to up top of the hill on 14. The camera is out constantly! I liken it to the views if you play Nefyn in North Wales ...but start to finish and all the way round this is a proper tough test of good golf. The third is just so unique. Totally blind where to fire your tee shot. Just beware the dry stone wall over the dunes with your second to the left in front of the green. That is something I have never encountered before!
The iconic 6th with the crazy Himalaya bunker is a great fun hole. Never seen anything like it. I'm sure i never will either.
But I loved this course. Every hole is so very different to any other with an amazing backdrop.
We took advantage of the summer twilight rate which was around £50 so a fantastic price. Even our ex PM David Cameron was out at the same time!
But some of these iconic links courses are public pathways too. I've faced dog walkers everywhere; horseback riders at Pennard; Horses and sheep on the green at Royal North Devon, But here a first.....a beautiful surfer girl walking right across the 9th fairway with just her beach towel around here. If that doesn't put you off.... Then the smell of BBQ from the beach on the 16th with the views across to Padstow just amazing!
We found a premier inn in Wadebridge close by which did the trick.
If you are serious about golf you need to go to Cornwall and Devon an play St Enodoc, Trevose and Saunton. Heaven on earth

Super course
The church course is a quality course. Although a long par 5 to start, it's not a great hole as you can't see the ball land on the 1st or 2nd shots. The 3rd is a dog leg with no obvious line. The 4th is a strange short par 4 (with a wall next to the green). The 5th has a big bunker (I do mean a really big bunker). There are some good holes near the church, although having walkers going up the edge of the fairway is not ideal. The greens were good, but didn't hold the ball well. There was preferred lies on the fairways (you could also get some surprising bounces from the middle of the fairway). The rough was lush in places and you could lose a ball very easily. A good course but maybe a little overpriced.Reviewer Rating

Surprisingly, a few negatives to put in context of the steep green fee. Preferred lies in the middle of May isn’t ideal. A lot of walkers to wait for at the church end of the course. Worse than that, and really something all clubs who welcome visitors have to address, our society was being hit into and moaned at by members frequently on the day, and that’s going to leave a bad taste however good the course is. If courses appreciate the visitor income, and I’m sure St Enodoc does, then it’s incredibly simple in this day and age for members to be notified of when societies have been booked and to avoid them.
A little over rated on here partly because of that, but not by much and ahead of Burnham as the Southwests best course
