Poorly maintained
This is my first review for golfshake. I have a pretty high tolerance for shoddy golf courses but my recent experience at Richmond Park (Dukes) compelled me to write this. The course is very poorly maintained at the moment. There’s a difference between growing the rough up and just neglecting to cut the grass.I lost balls in rough that is less than 5 paces off the green on two holes, including the rough between two greenside bunkers. We’re not talking a wild miss here, 10 feet right of a tiny green on a 200 yard par 3 and the ball is gone. There’s rough like this all around the course and it makes it pretty unplayable. I have played this course many times and it’s never been like this. Avoid, or don’t use premium balls.

Just returned after a 10 year absence to find the Condition of course has deteriorated, except Greens !
Just like years ago too many people allowed on with no idea of golf etiquette ie letting through faster players . ( 2hrs 20 mins to play 9 holes midweek )
Not worth the money - won’t be back .

Overbooked and slow
A good course, ruined by overbooking - more than 3 groups per hole just ruins this kind of golfing experience. Would not recommend going here on a weekend in any sort of nice weather they overbook and late comers they just let them tee of when they arrive. Which causes huge backlog of golfers on every hole. Our round took over 5 and half hours for what is essentially quite a short course. Really frustrating as the course is a nice parkland course but impossible to enjoy when waiting 5/10 minutes between shots. Will not recommendReviewer Rating

Stay Away!
Dangerous golf course, watch out to get hit by ball, queues and get property destroyed by amateur players.Advise you going elsewhere.

I went here at the weekend and was very disappointed. The greens were good and the fairways near the club house are well maintained. I think the lawn mower must have run out of petrol because the further from the club you get the worse the quality of fairway. The deep rough is on another level. A few drives 20 yards off the fair way and the ball dissapears into grass thats knee high. The ball is only half visible even on fairway at times. Won't go again.

It rained 2 days prior to the round. The ground was very muddy in places, a few winter tees and greens and the ground very very soft. On a 2 for 1 deal so value for money is still excellent. Would not recommend to play at present until the ground dries up

The courses are getting worse and the management don't seem to do anything useful.
The bunkers are dreadful, even some of the ones with new sand are full of grass ad weeds. The greens are being serviced and are very poor (which is a shame because they used to be one of the few good things about the courses). There seems to be a real lack of ground staff so maintenance is the minimum required. With the new club house it i a shame that Glendale seem to be driving this into the ground.
I have played at least 10 other courses in Surrey in past two months and Richmond Park now ranks as the worst courses i the county. It is only because it is so near to where I live that I play here.

Greens in poor conditions, looks as if uncut for a few weeks, also greens where soggy, may be over watered? Really poor for the price they charge. Will not visit this club again! shame!
