Nice course, but slow
The dukes course is fine, parkland, lots of trees a couple of nice holes. Trouble for us was the 2 3 balls In front, one group sharing clubs, poor etiquette, no one on course to speed up. Frustrating round(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 101 Handicap: 33.7)

The Princes Course - a good challenge
Was warned before that the greens had been holotined 3 weeks ago, but the watering system had broken down, so the greens were still suffering, which was an understatement, as they were very poor for this time of the year. For a short course by todays standards the Princes course is a good challenge, especially when its windy, very windy as it was today. The greens are very small, with clever bunkering around them, making shot selection difficult at times. Tee-boxes are well maintained and the fairways are good. Enjoyed the round though, with the 13th,14th and 18th in my opinion the stand out holes. The off-course facilities are ok, with a decent driving range, but the putting green needs some work on it and made larger, as Richmond Park can get very, very, very busy. The clubhouse is very new, with a green/living roof. Inside is very busy and very noisy. Just enough dining areas, either side of an area with bags, balls, clothing, etc. Not a pro-shop as such, just somewhere to display the items. I'd like to go back and play again though, maybe spend a day there and play both courses.(Round played: Apr 2019 - Score: 95 Handicap: 18.5)

Difficult to give an objective view.
When golf courses suffered with the heat of last summer and the wet winter you are maybe not be playing many courses at the moment in the best of conditions. Richmond Park (Princes Course) was in that category. It was not helped, and this has to be done, by hollow tiling and top dressing on the greens. However it is the time of the year when the fairways should be getting a decent mowing and tee boxes get tidied up. Sadly this seems at the moment to have been forgotten by the green keeping staff. I suppose to their defence with this course being so close to London it must get played during most of the daylight hours and makes this difficult.
Having said that I did play 4 shots under my handicap despite the 'sandy' greens.
To their credit the bunkers, although a bit stony were in good condition. I did seem to find quite a few during the round.
This is not a long course but you do have to do a bit of course management on the way round.
I was last out in a four ball in a society so we were playing at a pedestrian pace! Felt sorry for a two ball behind but pointless letting them through. Maybe they should have been paired up as a four ball.
The clubhouse does I am afraid to say borders on the 'functional'. Very much of the style of a service station also due to the high ceiling very noisy. However I was not there for a romantic dinner so it was fine.
Buggies very reasonably priced. Pleasant staff. Food was standard golf club fare.
If i could be bothered to drive 90 minutes again might like to play it in the summer to see it in better condition. However much better courses closer to home.

Overbooked and slow
A good course, ruined by overbooking - more than 3 groups per hole just ruins this kind of golfing experience. Would not recommend going here on a weekend in any sort of nice weather they overbook and late comers they just let them tee of when they arrive. Which causes huge backlog of golfers on every hole. Our round took over 5 and half hours for what is essentially quite a short course. Really frustrating as the course is a nice parkland course but impossible to enjoy when waiting 5/10 minutes between shots. Will not recommendReviewer Rating

London's most accessible golf haven
heath land, parkland or links? difficult to put an identity on princes course at Richmond park it has a bit of all of the above. it's not a long track but if windy it's a lot longer than you think with enough trouble to make a poor shot cost you dear. greens are always receptive but in summer approaches (15yrd) short could bounce anywhere good game craft required for good score. enjoy.Reviewer Rating
