Some interesting holes and quite a variety of challenges. The bunkers need work and some areas are a little tatty, but to be expected to an extent bearing in mind I played at the end of March.

played the course recently, was a bit disappointed tbh with the condition and the slow play. the bunkers seemed to have been filled up with old builders sand, full of stones and very gritty sand(ended up lifting ball out and placing) . feel that the course is overplayed but the layout is very good and with more investment would be a very good course

the greens are still rubbish Ive seen winter greens better than these although the rest of the course is good

Challenging Course but needs work!
Good course layout, but definitely needs work. The fairways weren't cut very well, and you could not distinguish between them and the first cut.This could be an excellent course, but just needs the greenkeepers to step up a bit.

Tricky
Good course with a lot of tree lined fairways, although straighter drives are rewarded many of the fairways slope one way or the other so you don't always get what you deserve. I found the greens to be amazingly fast, so holding the ball on the greens on the approach shots was nigh on impossible. However the greens were true. Reasonable value
Course playing very heavy due to wet clay soil. Luckily only 1 temporary tee. Course in reasonable nick.(Round played: Feb 2022 - Score: 87 Handicap: 22.7)

Reasonable condition definitely need to play it more
Difficult course due to trees and many blind holes.If i played it more i am sure i would get better.(Round played: Jan 2022 - Score: 114 Handicap: 32.3)

For me, this is the closest course to my home. Great public course. It could do with a little TLC in places (get some of the stones out of the bunkers) but overall good value, fair challenge ( lots of slopes/ no water ). Practice area reasonable for irons but driving nets poor condition. Putting green is good but faster than actual geeens. There is a bar attached but not great for real ale fans. Food pretty good. There's no place like home!

Old Favorite
This course has always been a good course especially in the winter as it seems to drain well, but not having played it for a while I can honestly say that the greens are the best that I've played on post pandemic lockdown especially for a municipal course.Reviewer Rating

Good course for drainage, so plays well in wet conditions. But is a municipal and sometimes the state of the course (length of grass on fairways, quality of greens and tee boxes) reflects it. Price varies but feels like I'm not getting value of I get charged more than ?25 for my round
