Sadly the course should have been marked unplayable. Fairways and greens waterlogged with most of the walkways and paths absolutely boggy ad muggy. Massive disappointment. And we haven't yet started the spring showers. Upside - food in the clubhouse was excellent and reasonably priced. Would only play again in the summer.

I play this course as it is local and helps loosen the shoulders. However, bunkers lack sand and if you aren't prepared for this, you will certainly lose shots trying to get your ball out as the club bounces and you end up thinning it.

That said, during the summer the course plays reasonably well (compared to winter where there is often standing water). The preparation of the greens has already been done therefore the course (non bunkers) should play well through the summer provided the greenkeepers regularly cut the course.

Course was rock hard and fairways looked like they hadn't seen water in weeks which meant you got weird and severe bounces. Greens were in good condition but Tee boxes need attention.

Played the woodland course earlier this week. Good layout apart from 10-13. The grass on the greens was too long and putting was hampered by a moonscape of un-repaired pitch marks. The bunkers either had too much sand or not enough and were full of un-raked shoe prints and ball marks. Pity the members/visitors don't care enough to look after the course!

Another visit to another Crown golf course. I was supposed to of played with a fellow golfshaker who sadly had to cancel. On arrival I had a friendly welcome in the pro shop

Tough course

Tough course with various doglegs and slopes. Greens very good though fairways a bit bare in places. Unusually very slow round as course very busy with a society but weather very good and other players sociable so good fun.

Despite the long dry spell the course is still very playable despite some bare patches on the fairways and the greens are very good.

Apart from a few silly holes a ok course. Very Hilly! Really need hole maps around this place. A very silly par 4 towards the end.

Good Value, but take your walking boots!

Had an afternoon tee time here recently. Had played the Village 9 hole before and managed to get on the woodland course for ?20 for 18 holes. The front 9 is good. Good way to get you warmed up for the back 9 which is totally different. Tight woodland golf on holes 10-14 which is very very hilly and a long 199 yard par three thrown in. Be prepared... its pretty hilly if you are carrying your own bag. The holes also play tough as well with many awkward lies , ball above & and below the feet etc. I also would say driver ins't needed across these holes. Overall i did enjoy this 18 but probably would have liked to have a course guide for the back nine.

First time playing here, and really enjoyed it, found some holes very difficult but that's expected playing for the first time.
