What the club says: The course is situated on 160 acres of low, undulating woodland between Farnborough and Aldershot. It has a par of 71 and features three par three and two par five holes. The par threes, the shortest of which is 168 yards, are a particular challenge for most golfers.

Measuring 6,550 yards from the white tees, our course is one of the longest golf courses in this area although the fairly level terrain means it remains a comfortable walk for most players.

Great course, if you get a chance to play it then you won’t be disappointed. Challenging long par threes and some tricky par fours

Course in great condition

Course was generally in great condition. There were some soft areas but they didn't really come into play. Greens were at a good speed and true.

As expected

Like many courses now, I would like to see it after the rains (!) - currently very brown. The rough is long grass, ball sometimes findable, I'm asured that's not the case when it's green! Very typical of the countryside around Aldershot, sandy soil, little bit of gourse and heather. Nicely laid out, plenty of trees, but mostly playable fairways, not too restrictive.

Needs some love

This is a really nice track - with most holes being well defined. The par 3?s are all a little too long but that's merely a gripe. The challenge however is the shocking state of the greens. They have worked on them as do most courses. But these lack grass in places and are far from true. Disappointing.

Great Society Day

Played a society day here and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Started with a breakfast which was one of the best I’ve had at a society day. Then played the course which was in pretty good order for March. Although the greens had been tined and sanded they ran true and fast. There’s a good score to be had here if you are straight. There’s plenty of trees to catch your ball if you’re not.

Cracking course in good condition. Played with a couple of members which helped when going round. Course meanders through the woodland and has a heathland feel to it in places with heather etc. Well worth playing and look forward to coming back. Very nice food in clubhouse pre and post round and a decent pint too.

Absolute pleasure, played the course over the Christmas period, remarkably dry considering the rainfall. I was informed (by many friendly members) this is due to a comprehensive drainage system installed some years ago which is now working very well. Even though middle of winter, course was in excellent condition, I cant wait to get back in the summer, highly recommended.

Absolutely great knock, they have really refurbished the course, the car park, the Gents and the outside areas - it looks great. Fairway's are crisp, rough is rough and is a great test of golf. a quality for the price. Membership is not cheap but I guess well worth it. It does get busy but I like the fact that groups go off the first and tenth at specific times and therefore no need to book a Tee Time.

I played this course 29 Jul 13 in the Mens 36 Open Medal and it impressed me massively.

Firstly the course was immaculate, fairways cross cut, tees handmown and the bunkers well presented.

The Greens however were a different league. They were very very quick, a shot topside of the pin was a battle to two putt and the greens were a real confidence test for putting. On the short game side they were a true test again as a chip had to land in the right place to get a good result with a bad shot always ending 10 foot away.

Pitching wise the greens were very receptive taking a high ball or a high spin shot very well but this was complimented by the smooth surface.

All in all the course blew me away by the standard it was presented on and as a Cat 1 Golfer who has played a lot of golf I must admit that this 36 event was the best 36 event I've played and that the course was in the top 5 courses I've played.

The course is a very fair test of a golfer. CSS was +3 for both rounds so that shows the test fair enough and that was without a hint of breeze.

The only criticism is the pin positions which all seemed to be tough with the 18th on the top tier left being the most ridiculous pin/green I've known for a while.

If you get the chance play here. Thank me later.
