Great setting and challenging course

Second visit so should have been easier this time but it hammered down with rain but this only really affected the course towards the end of our round when a couple of the approaches were waterlogged.

Had a great breakfast before the round and a nice pint after service was excellent.

Very attractive course across heath and parkland. Rolling fairways, interesting greens, good bunkers. Every hole is a good challenge.

Wolf in sheep’s clothing

A good test of golf for any level of handicap. Although a little short by today’s obsession for length, one needs good course management to produce a reasonable score. A different course from the white tees will make you concentrate on every shot.

Long established course in excellent condition

The club was very welcoming to our society with helpful and attentive staff. The park land course is well established in a scenic location. Considering how many courses are struggling to maintain course condition after the recent heat wave, this course is in excellent condition, tees, fairways and greens. Accuracy is required on many of the holes and the undulations on some greens are testing.

Definitely worth a visit

What a superb course. Tree lined fairways, some really challenging holes, well placed bunkers and lightning fast beautifully manicured greens. Challenging for the average golfer but well worth a visit. Lovely terrace overlooking course and great little cafe at the 9th serving food and drinks.

Average!!

I don’t see why the reviews for this place are so high. It’s average and not particularly friendly. A lot of restructuring taking place and needed by the looks of it but won’t return. Many other higher quality places for same money in area.

Excellent

Weather has been wet, but course in very good condition. Very enjoyable course, well designed, nice views. A lot of new bunkers being put in which will make it more challenging. Clubhouse good and members very friendly indeed.

It remained dry for most of the play but what rain we had did not detract from a good day's golf. The course is in good condition at the moment with well kept fairways and greens. the greens were a little slow but at least consistent. The normally luxuriant heather was not currently very thick so it was a bonus if you had to recover from it to be able to do so. The course from the yellows seem to play long and there are some challenging holes but all were OK with good "course management". The club house was clean, welcoming and cosy.

Beautiful course

Society day started with excellent bacon roll and coffee before 18 holes off the yellow tees. The 1st tee was busy from the time I arrived at 7:30 until I left mid afternoon so getting a tee time can be difficult at short notice.

Course has a good mixture of holes and challenges and the greens were true and smooth but tricky to read. There are some steep drop offs so you need to know where to place your shots or you will run up a score.

Surrey Hills is a lovely part of the country and this course has some great views.

Great course

Played here for the first time on a society day. Interesting course in excellent condition. Greens are great and rolled really well without being too quick. Course is a mixture of park and heathland which gives it variety. Few blind tee shots here and there too. Really well looked after on the day and look forward to playing it again.

Thoroughly enjoyed my reciprocal game here. Course is in excellent condition, it is a good challenge with some interesting holes. Hills, which I always love to add some interest, plenty of trees and very pretty.
