I've not played for almost a year but always enjoy this course. There will be much rejoicing when I finally manage to clear the water on the 16th and 18th in the same round.

Very nice mature course. Played in a society competition. Proved difficult but the grrens were running true. Would play again.

This is a wonderful course and I only wish I got to play it more often. Some excellent holes with interesting greens which are usually very quick. Not the flattest of courses, but not too bad for us seniors.

This was my 4th visit here, but hadn't played it for over 6 years. The course is fantastic - more 'memorable' holes than perhaps any other course I've played. Greens were like lightning, and some very severe slopes to try and get your head round. Fairways were cut very low, which didn't suit all of our group. Bunkers seemed to be well maintained, but I only visited 2. We played as a team of 4 with incredible value at £60 for all of us in their Senior Open which can be any combination of men or women over 50. Normal cost is £45 a round, or £25 with a County Card. It's not a particularly long course, and we would have benefited from either a yardage book or one of our party having a GPS distance measuring device, as a lot of shots were short or long because we didn't know the distances! The Pro-shop did not have yardage books! We have all expressed a wish to return to play again.

The course was in marvellous condition and the two back to back par 5's can ruin a decent card!

Well worth a visit

I've always enjoyed playing here, as I consider the course has more 'memorable' holes than perhaps any other course I've played.

Greens this year were like last year - a little slower than I expected, but were still quick and very true, and there are also some fairly severe slopes to try and get your head round.

Fairways were well cut.

Bunkers seemed to be well maintained, and the ones I visited had plenty of sand.

We played as a team of 4 with incredible value at ?88 for all of us in their Senior Open which, as from this year has been made into a Senior Mens Open. This is great value at 88 for 4 players (22 each). Normal cost is 45 a round, or 25 with a County Card, unless these have increased since 2022.

It's not a particularly long course, and despite having a number of GPS devices between us, AND a yardage book; a lot of shots were short or long because we didn't get the distances right, or judge the bounce correctly.

We didn't eat, other than snacks at the half-way house, and the included bacon rolls as part of the cost of the open, so I cannot really comment on food cost, but one of our group did study the menu, and was pleasantly surprised at the food cost.

We have all expressed a wish to return to play again.
