Modern clubhouse which is excellent throughout. Friendly and welcoming staff. Cheerful groundstaff. Really good place for food and drink before and afterwards.
The course is what it is. Difficult to be varied over 9 holes but at leat 3 of them are varied enough to be completely different (The 2/11 and 8/16 are nicely dog legged to allow a shorter/longer option second time round via well positioned tee boxes). A few though have simply adjacent tees, basically playing the same hole twice, a bit longer maybe with a slightly different tee angle. Not a criticism as such- it is what it is.
Immaculate greens which are top notch. Attention to detail shown by the green staff whilst we were there, lovely cuts around the greens- a pleasure for average club golfers such as me. Fairways well maintained, well defined and clear first and second cuts leading away towards trouble- really good.
I really liked Mt Pleasant, playing it 2-3 times a year if I lived closer I would consider membership. It's due to expand to 18 holes soon apparently, if they can maintain the standard in the new section and if they take the opportunity to vary/shake the holes up it would be a real gem.
NB- No twilight rates- weird for a 9 holer!!!

nice local course

My first time playing the course, which had been 'talked up' by quite a few of the Society players who had already played it. The greens didn't disappoint, but for me the rest of the layout and standard of the course, bunkers, fairways, tees was very ordinary. We also followed a club match, which meant it was not very quick, and we played on one of the hottest days of the year so far which distracted from the whole experience. The breakfast we had was very good and piping hot, and the bar and clubhouse facilities were top notch. A further 9 holes are being built, but I don't know when these will be ready, and I also wonder how long the 18 hole course will be bearing in mind the current 9 hole length is only 2801 yards maximum off the white tees. I would like to play the course again, but will probably leave the driver in the bag, as it should be easier to plan your way around the course without trying to get too close to the short par 4's.

Very well kept 9 hole course with 18 tees. (Another 9 holes being built).
Staff are always friendly and the club house is one of the better ones, lovely decking outside looking down on the 9th/18th hole.

Course was in very good condition and even though it's an 9 hole course the different tees on the "back 9" make it feel like an 18 hole course. lovely club house

Great little course due for expansion. New clubhouse with great pro shop attached. Nine holes at present but different tees change the holes significantly on second round.

Excellent condition. 5/6 of the holes have tees in sufficiently different positions to make it a 'new hole' second time round. No twilight rate offered which is surprising and a little against the grain nowadays. A touch over priced for both 9/18 rounds but the club house facilities are very good and brand new. Very friendly staff, always the way. Well worth a visit if relatively local, won't do much better if looking for a quick 9.
