Most Helpful Review
1st visit to this golf course and was disappointed throughout. Firstly I got barked at by a member of staff with a huge sense of importance when I wheeled my trolley through the reception just moments after I had been informed by the young guy in the pro shop that this was allowed to gain access to the driving range??
The course itself was in good condition however the greens had recently undergone maintenance (spiked and covered with sand) which made putting fairly pointless. I understand course and green maintenance is required but there was no mention of this as we happily handed over our FULL green fees. I feel those that are not regulars at this club should at the very least be informed of such things so that a decision can be made if visitors would like to use the course in its current state.
However, the most frustrating thing about the day was getting behind 4 members who had no intention what so ever of letting anybody play through. As part of a 2 ball we caught up with this group on the 6th tee and then had to wait to play every single shot for the remainder of the round. There were endless opportunities for us to play through but we got the strong impression that these 4 guys felt it was their course and everyone else will just have to wait.
Won't be rushing back to Chesfield Downs anytime soon - Mar 13 2015

Golf Course Reviews for Chesfield Downs Golf Centre
(Round played: Aug 2018 - Score: 89 Handicap: 0)
Dry conditions but greens were in excellent condition and played true. Pace of play could be improved if 4 balls allowed 2 balls to go through.
(Round played: Jul 2018 - Score: 91 Handicap: 23.5)
Course was in great condition from tee to green but the pace of play was exceptionally slow.
No fourballs allowed us to play through so we waited on every tee for up to 15mins at times.
(Round played: Jun 2018 - Score: 88 Handicap: 13.7)
(Round played: Jun 2018 - Score: 112 Handicap: 29.3)
Playable all year round, well worth a visit whatever the weather or conditions. Great Pro shop, well stocked. Good driving range and good clubhouse facilities
(Round played: Feb 2018 - Score: 106 Handicap: 0)
(Round played: Jan 2018 - Score: 80 Handicap: 9.9)
Course in very good condition, particularly the greens and bunkers. Forgiving & generous fairways though round was played in windy conditions.
(Round played: Dec 2017 - Score: 100 Handicap: 22.6)
Considering the time of year the greens very true.
(Round played: Dec 2017 - Score: 84 Handicap: 12.3)
Not keen on the rockery ditches but all part and parcel of the course.
(Round played: Nov 2017 - Score: 84 Handicap: 15)
I played in the Chesfield Downs Winter Series and had a really enjoyable day's golf. Although I'm not a member, I know and like the course and the quality of the food in the clubhouse.
(Round played: Nov 2017 - Score: 114 Handicap: 28)
EXCELLENT PRO SHOP AND GOOD CLUB HOUSE. GREENS IN GREAT CONDITION. A BUSY COURSE SO PACE OF PLAY CAN BE SLOW AT TIMES
(Round played: Oct 2017 - Score: 93 Handicap: 15.9)
Open course, very good greens, not too difficult to play in good condition
(Round played: Sep 2017 - Score: 92 Handicap: 16.9)
Great course, well worth a round. The pace of play was good, not slow and not rushed.
(Round played: Jun 2017 - Score: 130 Handicap: )
(Round played: Jul 2017 - Score: 42 Handicap: )
Course found to be in good condition, only spoilt by bunkers not being raked & pitch marks not repaired.
(Round played: Jul 2017 - Score: 96 Handicap: 22.3)
