excellent greens
Not too difficult with a pleasant variety of challenges. Greens are true and in excellent condition making the putting game a nice challenge. The rough looks formidable but is actually fairly forgiving and playable if you are lucky. 2 x nets and putting green but no chipping area. staff excellent and welcoming.(Round played: Jun 2019 - Score: 84 Handicap: 18.9)

Good green conditions
Decent heathland course with tight fairways and strategically placed bunkers. Fairway conditions not great but preferred lies are an option all year round. Some testing par 3s with tee shots over trees or a gully.Reviewer Rating

Good course - would revisit
Good value for ?21 weekend twilight. Interesting course with some challenging holes, though condition was not the best and the greens had been hollow tined so were bumpy. Super convenient from London - right next to the railway station.Reviewer Rating

You certainly won't have to worry about any climbs, as the terrain is as flat as they come. I say flat, although some of the fairways are often anything but, and on days when the ground is firmer I can imagine a few unusual bounces.
The greens seem to have a lot of protection from numerous bunkers, but miss those and you'll be playing on really good greens. I was surprised how good they were given that we're in the back end of January, and they are a total credit to the greens staff.
There is one stretch, over the other side of tram lines, where the holes seem to cross each other. There's also one hole, the 7th I think, where you have a small copse of trees guarding the green. Otherwise the course is good without being great, and there are only a few memorable holes. It's certainly worth playing though.
The clubhouse is certainly decent, but the toilets and changing areas look like they've just been refurbished and have a “I wasn't expecting that” wow factor. I can only speak for the Men's changing rooms, btw.

Excellent
Having not played at Mitcham for almost 30 years, it was an absolute pleasure to play there and to see that the course had undergone a few tweaks and layout changes but was still one of the best kept public courses around.Reviewer Rating

Recovering from drought
I last played Mitcham in July when all but the greens were desert beige. The rain has helped a good bit, but the course seems to still be struggling a little with the effects on a few fairways, as the grass is a bit patchy and there are spots of crabgrass. Greens were well maintained, as always, and played nicely. Clubhouse staff was friendly.(Round played: Aug 2018 - Score: 101 Handicap: 28.6)
