Forgiving and fun seaside golf
This course is refreshingly forgiving compared to some more renowned links. It's not as pretty but is in a great seaside location, and is shorter and more forgiving, so a much more enjoyable game for mid to high handicappers. The lack of tall dunes means no blind shots or narrow gaps to thread the ball through, but the challenge of being exposed to the elements remains. Though less challenging than other links there are still quite a few intimidating shots with the beach close to most fairways on the back nine and other hazards needing solid accurate shots to avoid them. It is set up without large areas of thick long rough, so that as long as you don't stray too far off line the punishment for being slightly wayward is not so severe as to be demoralising. Poor shots may result in a difficult lie for the next, but will not automatically result in lost balls. This makes for a course that's fun to play for those of us who enjoy sufficient challenge in trying to find the fairways and greens without needing to be so heavily penalised when we fail to do so. No irrigation in the fairways means they were a bit scruffy and bare in places following a dry spell but the greens and surrounding areas were in very good condition. Staff and members were very welcoming too.Reviewer Rating

It’s a tight area and a bit claustrophobic on a busy day, but little else to complain about. Great value, a little under rated on here.

Nice afternoon spent hold onto my hat
We got on the course late and only managed 16 holes which was fine. Nice course good greens, front nine was quite tame back nine is not as friendly, especially if the wind gets up. My word that puts a few yards on the holes but if your in the area give it a try. Just remember to gaffer tape your hat on...........Reviewer Rating

Nice tight old links course
Lovely course to play first thing in the morning, greens in great condition. Difficult playing into the sun in the early morning, but nice to come home on the back nine with the sun on your back.(Round played: Jul 2017 - Score: 93 Handicap: 19.3)
