Stayed at Butlins and wanted to play a local course. Lucky enough to find this course literally on the doorstep and what a find.Booked a tee time online and able to pay on the day. Turned up just as the sun was coming up. Pro shop were great in detailing what we would need to know regarding the course.
Course is set right next to the beach on a narrow strip that runs away from the clubhouse and then back again so quite tight if you are wayward with your drives and the course is busy. We had a day with light winds and dry weather but can see this being a bigger challenge in other conditions. Greens were fantastic ( I played the 2010 at Celtic manor the same week and these were at least that good) and well maintained, as was the rest of the course. We had some members behind us who were great at keeping us on the right tees and facing the right fairway having not played here before. If you do play visit the clubhouse afterwards for home made cake and a hot drink nearly as good as the course. If you get the chance play here. I loved it.

Forgiving and fun seaside golf
This course is refreshingly forgiving compared to some more renowned links. It's not as pretty but is in a great seaside location, and is shorter and more forgiving, so a much more enjoyable game for mid to high handicappers. The lack of tall dunes means no blind shots or narrow gaps to thread the ball through, but the challenge of being exposed to the elements remains. Though less challenging than other links there are still quite a few intimidating shots with the beach close to most fairways on the back nine and other hazards needing solid accurate shots to avoid them. It is set up without large areas of thick long rough, so that as long as you don't stray too far off line the punishment for being slightly wayward is not so severe as to be demoralising. Poor shots may result in a difficult lie for the next, but will not automatically result in lost balls. This makes for a course that's fun to play for those of us who enjoy sufficient challenge in trying to find the fairways and greens without needing to be so heavily penalised when we fail to do so. No irrigation in the fairways means they were a bit scruffy and bare in places following a dry spell but the greens and surrounding areas were in very good condition. Staff and members were very welcoming too.Reviewer Rating

Nice links course
Really enjoyed this course, certainly helped with the wind going in the right direction. Made the last 4 holes challenging to say the least. Greens in excellent nick(Round played: Nov 2021 - Score: 88 Handicap: 17.6)

Disappointed with fairways.Very patchy with lots of bare patches - would have been OK if preferred lies allowed.
