Nice course, gets better as you go on, good greens, lots of interesting holes.
A few holes where you can spray it off the tee but also some very tight holes.

Have played this course several times. Lots of course work been going on for months. Generally in good condition even at this time of year. Only down side was condition of greens. I must have repaired at least 3 pitch marks on every green. On one I repaired 8.
Good value for money. A 4 ball costs £20 pp.

A proper golf course

The last time I played at Mill Green was 10 years ago and I forgot how truly good it was. The course was beautifully presented. The fairways were manicured, the greens were Augusta fast and the welcome in the clubhouse was warm and very efficient. The bunkers are currently being renovated and are not in play, but that was not a problemvforbthiscsand lover. The food was excellent. I would say to anyone looking for a new course to play, with friends or in a Society, this is the perfect course.

Beautiful greens

The greens were a delight to play upon and some cutting patterns on the fairways looked impressive. Beyond that, this is a course in transition with remodelling of new bunkers and water features. Old bunkers are roped off, to allow new grass to take hold, with all bunkers GUR. Currently overpriced for what's on offer, delayed start due to overcrowding. Queuing on front nine tee's, no wonder after 2 hrs 40 mins some groups retired to have a beer.

Course in transition

Very hot day. Greens fast but true. Lots of work bring done on the course. All bunkers being rebuilt. Currently all GUR. Lots of bunkers on the course. Difficult course for high handicappers but good challenge.

Positive changes being made

Played here a couple of times recently and have been impressed.
There is quite a bit of ground under repair currently with bunkers being moved and new bunkers being created and once finished, this will bring an even greater challenge. Looking forward to playing here again very soon.

Overall, it's a challenging track but forgiving enough for a high handicapper like me to still stand a chance of scoring well.

Getting better and better!

I've been playing Horton for many years but not since before Lockdown 1 this year. Great to be there this week before we go into another period of ?no golf? and to have a really enjoyable experience on the course that continues to mature and become increasingly defined. Maintenance and detail is consistently improving and the challenge of the first 5 holes continues to set the tone of your round. And then you are confronted by the 10th, the course signature island hole - always a challenge! Will always return to a favourite course and this is one of mine.

Course has got new owners and now the price has gone through the roof. Stay away until they decide to put some of that money into the course. Disappointed

Nice course, kept in decent condition. Practise green and range decent enough too. I do find this course priced too highly though for what it is. I played after 2 on a Sunday and it was still £30 a player, befoer 2 i think its around the £42 mark which is definitely over priced. Saying that, its a challenging course and worth a game, although i would choose the hertfordshire over this every time.

Have to be honest and say I wasn't particularly impressed with this course. Last 3 holes are great and there are some other decent ones around the turn but, in general, it was mostly short and a bit bland. Greens were ridiculously firm for the time of year (firm, not fast) and impossible to hold, even with a wedge. There was also a horrible smell of raw sewage at a couple of different holes. Nice clubhouse and facilities though.
