Course struggling a bit with wet weather & work

Played Mill Green a few times before, and always liked it. holes 15, 17 & 17 is a beutiful little stretch. However, the course on this occasion was struggling a bit with the wet weather (can't really be helped). And the 18th had work going on, so an excavator and dumper rather spoiled the hole. Not the end of the world, but would not want to have paid any more than I did for it (?21 each). Pro shop also closed for refurb.

An awful round of golf. Played on Thursday afternoon in a two-ball and took 4 hours and 15 minutes to get through 16 holes because of slow play in front of us and after which we walked off. On a couple of occasions there were three groups all on the same hole! We explained in the pro shop after and got a response of "oh ok", we thought they would want to know about the slow play but obviously not. Absolutely no appeal to play this course again, there is no real variation or big challenges, fairways were bare, sand was hard and greens were slow. There are a lot of much better courses in the area and i would not recommend paying £42 for a round here.

The greens were in a terrible state. They were almost unplayable because of the divots and ongoing works. The rest of the course was in ok condition but for the money they charge you would expect more.
The clubhouse is nice and the pro shop is ok, bit small though.
The money they charge would be ok if it was the best course in the area but its not and as such £30 for a weekday round is way too much.
I used to play this course ten years ago when it was new and it has actually got worse over the years.

Interesting course. In need to some TLC. Appreciate the dry weather hasn't helped. Greens were very good other than a players not repairing pitch marks. Players also not raking back bunkers.
Lacking pro shop which means waiting to check-in while staff serve coffees.

Paid ?37 as a members (flexi) guest, and feel like i overpaid. Course was fine in general, but not amazing. Range could do with some attention too. Wouldn't rush back at the price. MG used to offer a very reasonable visitors green fee rate, but seems quite expensive now. I paid a similar amount for a twilight round at a country club very close by, within the same week!

Beautiful greens

The greens were a delight to play upon and some cutting patterns on the fairways looked impressive. Beyond that, this is a course in transition with remodelling of new bunkers and water features. Old bunkers are roped off, to allow new grass to take hold, with all bunkers GUR. Currently overpriced for what's on offer, delayed start due to overcrowding. Queuing on front nine tee's, no wonder after 2 hrs 40 mins some groups retired to have a beer.

Excellent golf, full of challenges. Played several times midweek & at the weekend. My main is that the course is well
managed during the week , but seems to be poorly managed at the weekend when busier & only having 8 minute gap between tee offs. Also seemed very crowded & having to wait on every tee, took over 5 hours & still didn't complete the round & we they'd off at 3.15pm ! Poor
Will play again, but not at weekends.

What was a good course, one that makes you think, is now spoilt by really being in almost bad condition. The fairways had a huge amount of literally bald areas and the weather hasn't been very hot at all. The greens were very slow, bobbly, huge number of pitch marks which haven't been fixed and generally needed a good sorting out. Course used to be in lovely condition but afraid there are now so many other better course local to it you are better off somewhere else. As for cost, they do a deal of £55 for 2 green fees and a buggy after 2pm on I think any day of the week. Only went in 2 bunkers, and both were not in good condition either. Really disappointing to see how this course has gone downhill.

Such a disappointment, please put the work in to sort it out again. Some holes are great, the 12th, 15th, 16th, 17th are stand outs. But will be going elsewhere this year.

Have to be honest and say I wasn't particularly impressed with this course. Last 3 holes are great and there are some other decent ones around the turn but, in general, it was mostly short and a bit bland. Greens were ridiculously firm for the time of year (firm, not fast) and impossible to hold, even with a wedge. There was also a horrible smell of raw sewage at a couple of different holes. Nice clubhouse and facilities though.

Mill Green suffers from it's success as a Crown Golf Course. The design is good with some excellent holes especially 16 and 17 through the trees at the end. However, it is overplayed with tee times filled and consequently at peak periods the greens look like they've been bombed there are so many pitch marks. I had to cancel my membership here because at times I just couldn't get on unless booking a week in advance which was very frustrating. The Par 3 Romany is good for teaching children or a quick practice but could be so much better with more care and attention. They also have a grass driving range.

Not a favourite but i won't let that let me write a biased review. The course is generally in good condition, the greens are always pretty good so it stands up in that department. Down side's are members being too member-like (it is open for the public too remember) & price can be a little excessive. Re-built clubhouse due to the previous one being burnt to the ground..which is a massive improvement. They say they're warm & welcoming..but i'm not so sure. Part of Crown Golf.

Unusual set up as pro shop does not exist and you go into the bar lounge to confirm arrival the course itself is a fairly easy 18 track that gets rock hard in summer so if you enjoying hitting your drives miles and miles go to Mill Green.

Good value for money. A 4 ball costs £20 pp.

A bit confusing and work in progress

Played on 1st April. The clubhouse is in the process of being renovated and various works are in progress on the course. New bunkers are being installed and are free drop area at the time.
It is not a long course but still quite challenging in places. Greens are a little variable and there are several water hazards that come into play on many holes. Lots of trees on the front nine but more open on the back nine.

Good but overpriced for the current condition of the fairways

First time playing and was looking forward to the course due to the premium price (?45 Saturday). Tee boxes in good condition, greens in amazing condition, fairways in desperate need of some water. Understandable condition for the time of year but not for the premium price - We had to play pick and place on some fairways. Great layout though, especially the back 9 that felt like a different course to the front 9
