An open course so you can really give it a whack and not be in to much trouble. Greens were fast today but a little bumpy. Tee boxes were good. Fairways were cut. Some testing holes with water to keep you on the straight and narrow.
Only £17.00 during the week so a cheap round of golf.

a bit of a plain course, although holes 15,16 and 17 are decent. The course is in quite poor condition in places with lumpy tee boxes, bobbly greens and threadbare fringes. The clubhouse from the outside looks like an old barn but don't be fooled, inside is a lovely bar, the food smelt good as well! It is possible to get some good deals to play here, however I would rather pay a few quid extra and play elsewhere in future.

I reviewed this course 5 or 6 weeks ago and gave it 4 stars, but having played it yesterday saturday 2nd October,i will have to knock it down a couple. One star for the poor quality of the fairways, where you cant tell the differance from the the rough.Sometimes you would hit a shot straight down the middle and spend a couple of minuetes looking for your ball. The other star i am knocking off is for the price at £22 for a 1pm tee time is a bit much considering the state of the fairways. When they sort out the fairways this is a great course with some fantastic holes lets hope they get to read this and do somthing about it.

Some better courses to be played for the £18 midweek price charged ,tees and greens kept to very good standards ,but some fairways very stoney and bare with large slopes on them,

Difficult to get a good feel for the club and course on such a drab, cold day when the course was very wet, but expect to be re-visiting for another run out shortly.

I played this course on Monday 22nd September.

The weather was cloudy, cool with a light wind which got stronger the longer we played.

First impressions were not good!

We paid for our golf and got a bucket of range balls.

The range wasn't a range! It was a piece of waste land with one mat.

The range balls were a mixture of proper golf balls and range balls.

Then I went into the small clubhouse to get the regulation bacon butty! Only to find out that they don't start cooking until 11am.

We arrived on the first tee and found that we were looking down a bowling alley. They have built a bank on each side of the fairway and it does look like a bowling alley!

The tees were OK, the fairways were OK. The greens were green, they had grass on them and were well cut, but they were rock hard! Even with a bit of moisture on top they would not hold a golf ball, you had to drop it short and let the ball run onto the green.

You could tell that this used to be a nine hole course as the two halves are totally different to each other. The front nine are nice mature holes but the back nine is like one big field with a few trees in between the fairways.

I did like the 6th hole (Par 4 - 281 yards - SI 7), you tee off uphill to a marker post. It's only a short par 4 but you don't realise that just over the brow of the hill is a pond! It's on the left hand side of the fairway, but the fairway narrows the nearer the green you get!

My favourite hole was the 17th (Par 4 - 322 yards - SI 6), you stood on the tee and one each side of the fairway, about 150 yards away were two big trees. As you looked down the fairway you could see the green in the distance, nestled into a small wood! We then found out that there was a pond before the green that went from the front of the green around to the left hand side of the fairway. I hit a three wood and ended up about ten yards short of the pond on the right hand side of the fairway, if I had gone left I would have been in the pond!

They had a small bar which was nice enough.

I don't think I'll go back here this winter, but I might try and give it a go again next summer.

Good Course, condition questionable

Good course, plays nicer since they have swap the front and back 9. Stuck behind group, made day slow.

Good value but fairways narrow

A nice clubhouse, food, drink and shop ... excellent value for a midweek round of golf. The course was in a good condition, however we found the fairways very narrow and when off the fairway you found yourself in clover, which hide the ball very well, so plenty of lost balls in our group, despite OK tee shots.
