Good value but fairways narrow
A nice clubhouse, food, drink and shop ... excellent value for a midweek round of golf. The course was in a good condition, however we found the fairways very narrow and when off the fairway you found yourself in clover, which hide the ball very well, so plenty of lost balls in our group, despite OK tee shots.Reviewer Rating

Very friendly club
Haven't played here for a while - first off they have swapped the front and back 9 around - a good move. Greens were very good, a shame the tees were still suffering from the recent bad weather. Lovely staff set the atmosphere. Will be returning.Reviewer Rating

Very good drainage system meant that even after the overnight rain the course
was practically dry. Greens are well kept but the winter tees are a pain
they won't take a long tee which I prefer.

Good Course, condition questionable
Good course, plays nicer since they have swap the front and back 9. Stuck behind group, made day slow.Reviewer Rating

Fourball Tuesday Deal
Booked a fourball on a Tuesday at Mardyke, somewhere we have played many times before. The deal was for Seniors at £20 with an excellent mini breakfast and coffee/tea. 18 holes. The course greens wise were excellent and receptive. The fairways unsurprisingly were very barren and dry but still playable just, although on the later back 9 this was very difficult at times. Mardyke is challenging and particularly the Watery Grave but still doable. We throughly enjoyed our golf and food and will be back in two weeks.

hilly for essex
Interesting course particularly round holes 6, 7, 8 where the slopes are steep and the water in front of the green quite a challenge for the second shot.Reviewer Rating
