Long and scenic, but mostly long

If you're looking at scoring well then you'd better hit it long, because this course is 6556 yards from the yellows, and six of the par 4's are 400+ yards. To be fair, the mostly wide fairways do allow you to open your shoulders, so that helps a little.

A lot of the courses I've played on recently are still struggling from last summer's heat, but that doesn't seem to be an issue with the quite lovely Magnolia Park's fairways. The greens and tees were very acceptable too.

As for the holes, there's a very scenic stretch from 5 through to 8, assuming you can block out the M40 running through the view. The 12th is a par 4 that forces you to choose between going left or right of a bunker and a line of trees that splits the fairway. Left is shorter and tighter, right is longer and wider. I chose the trees, but I suggest you don't do that. The 15th is a beast of a par 4 - 425 yards, and with a huge lake in front of the green.

I can't imagine that you'd be disappointed with a round here. Along with an excellent course, there's a clubhouse and practise facilities to match.

Magnolia Park-A hidden gem in the Buckinghamshire countryside

Excellent facilities. Great course. Will be better when dry as it rained consistently which made scoring tougher than it could be. If you went in the bunkers it was nigh on impossible to play a good shot as they were so wet. The greens had recently been holotined, I'd say probably 2 weeks ago, which made putting a bit tricky on some greens. All in all, a really enjoyable day. Be warned there are some long walks between some greens and tees, but it doesn't detract from the course and is well worth a visit and you won't be disappointed.

Played the course 2 weeks ago. It was a bit scruffy attention to detail was not there. Today there was an improvement. Greens had improved. Could be a tie of year thing.

Magnificent Magnolia Park

Free round of golf. Well couldn't turn that down. Played here many years ago and the course has matured into a real test, made evn more difficult with light rain and strong winds for the front 9 when the weather was at its worst. A great layout with some really difficult holes. The 1st is a par 5, with water all down the left The 5th and 6th are tough long par 4's. The 11th is a long par 3 and the 18th is a real tough finishing hole, again with water all down the left. The 10th,12th,15th amd 16th are my favourite holes. I'd like to play in again, maybe May/June time to compare the conditions, but for a free round of golf, I'm not complaining. I'll be going back. If I had to pick a bad point, the walk between some tees is quite long, especially as the course is just over 6500 yards.

Nice course and worth a re-visit

Visited with a society.
Very warm welcome and probably the best bacon roll from any golf club.
Course like others was suffering from the hot weather but still in very good condition considering the lack of water on fairways. Greens were good and we enjoyed our round and facilities.
One on the list to revisit.

Decent course, worth a visit

Good course with some really good challenges, shame I played it when it was so dry. Would be excellent in the spring/autumn I feel.

Holes 2, 8,10 and 15 very nice holes.

Interesting course layout. Some good holes, but badly in need of some TLC.

Very nice course.

I had this round on tee off time "hot deal" for only ?16 and it was excellent value
at that price. Being a fairly high handicapper I found the course very interesting
and quite challenging, the greens were quite fast and most having undulations that
made them a bit harder to read. Would definitely play here again. Pricey bar, two pints lager ?9.50.
