The Notleys course is an very good course for any golfer who likes to play unhurried and is cares not so much for perfect tee-boxes and immaculate greens but more about a gentle, lovely round of golf. There are a good variety of holes although the 1st and 18th as well as two other holes are very similar. Many of the holes of streams and ditches running across them which create hazards off the tee for the 20+ handicapper but shouldn't trouble the better players. There are a couple of tricky par 3s and a couple of difficult par 4s although the par 5s - if played cautiously - can give good reward. In those terms, the course does encourage safe play and as such is a compelling matchplay experience with aggressive play leading either to hero or villain scenarios! Having played at Notleys throughout this season it is clear that there are times when the condition of the course (greens and fairways in particular) has varied considerably. For the majority of the year there has been little to no sand in the bunkers although the rough has been managed very well, improving the course no end. At present, thanks to some excellent work from the greenkeeper and his staff the every hole (saving the odd tee-box) is in very good condition and for ?10 on wednesdays and ?16 at weekends it is a course that is very well worth a visit. The staff are very friendly, as are the members. The bar is good an the quiet surroundings perfect for a leisurely days golf.

played several times in 2014.first game this year sat 18/04/15 the course is definatley better and lots of work due be carried out.we still posted several balls in the river hate the 2cnd but love the 14th great value for money.clubhouse still very good had a great welcome and advice on arrival from new chap not there last year.super staff, thanks to members who stopped to chat to us.

I played this course about 5 years ago and I must say that it is a lot better now. played on a Wednesday were it is £10 for 18 holes which is an absolute bargain. will be returning soon

i played this course last year and was playable but in poor condition but today was lovely. the greens were very well maintained but the bunkers could do with some fresh sand in as the hard sand made them hard to play. otherwise a nice course

hi,did notleys yesterday monday bank hol.the course was busy but flowing nicely.haveplayed this course several times when down this end of the country.
we love the friendly club house good coffee and the best all day breakfast plenty of it and good quality.
the course has changed by the removal trees mostly by the water has opened it out nicely(if i could hit straight!!!) and the greens just marvllous medium speed suits me.great improvements,hope it stays same price.down side smoke filling the club house caused by members in smokers extention and listening to them moaning!!shall be back on next trip definatley.

Good condition considering the weather conditions of the last couple of weeks. Very open so a lot of recovery chances. Sometimes difficult to navigate course but very helpful staff gave us course guide to help out
