What the club says: Braintree Golf Club was founded in 1891 making it one of the earliest in the country and the third oldest in Essex. It is a par 70 parkland course featuring tight tree lined fairways, water hazards and fast true greens.
It has been on the East of England PGA tour circuit since 1992 and is regarded by professionals and amateurs alike as a course that demands accurate ball striking and good course management.

First time round here. Lovely course in good condition. Nice and varied in how it's laid out with plenty of doglegs and various changes in elevation. Greens were like lightening as think my society day had followed the club champs or similar the previous Sat. Made anything above the hole mildly terrifying but were very true. Clubhouse was very nice and bacon roll pre round and main meal post were both very nice. One of those tracks where you feel you might play it a little better second time round. Look forward to heading back.

Played Braintree in the Summer, and the course was immaculate. I would class Braintree as a technical course. Which needs thinking about how you plot your way round. The course has a different feel to both 9s. So very challenging holes. Which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Snobby members which ruined the round. It’s a nice golf course but did not feel like I was welcome there. A massive shame as the course it nice. I would avoided if you are a visitor. These elderly members need to to realise that golf has changed and the younger generation are the future of golf.

I played this course on a charity day so I do not know how much a round costs.It is a lovely course with many tree lined holes.There are good practice facilities.

Great Club
Great club house all staff friendly and very helpful.Course is a great layout in fair condition previous works has not recovered fully due to the weather.

Bit pricey as a guest £45 but course is in fine fettle. Greens are in fantastic condition and the fairways well kept, Tight but fair course even if I was not playing particularly well.

Lovely track even on an awful day

Fast Greens, tough in the wind
Lovely course in north Essex. The greens are some of the best around, with tree lines fairways being straight off the tee is crucial. Layout is good with different elements faced on both nines.Staff were great and the food was excellent. Recommend playing this course, when there is no wind - it was tough playing into the wind.

Great Challenging Course
Played here on a society day and when I realised it's the course behind where I used to live I was very excited to play. Playing off 3/4 handicaps made it tough scoring also with the tight quick greens makes it vital to ensure fairways are hit.
