This little gem runs alongside Royal Troon and when I played it was proper blustery links weather which only added to the difficulty and the enjoyment of the course. only issue was playing off matts which i hate buts the greens were in fantastic condition for march and ,despite the rain, bloody quick. I'd thouroughly recommend this course and a nearby course, Gailes, as two of Ayrshire's finest and well worth a visit

Excellent links course, very long. The first three holes tend to test the quality of the round . Holes 10,11, and 12 cut inland to more parkland tree lined conditions reverting to links style for the finish. Being long it is difficult to recover from a misdirected shot although the ball should be findable. One needs to be straight as well as long.
Tends to be busy and overplayed. Popular with golfers from Glasgow at weekends. Weekdays are best.

Great Public Course

The greens were excellent but the fairways a little parched in places. The public courses in Troon (Lochgreen, Darley and Fullarton) are very popular indeed so it is a good idea to book a tee time. I have been playing these courses for nearly 50 years and will keep coming back!

Inland links course

The course has excellent turf and some long challenging holes. Greens are usually firm and fast.
Good drives are rewarded by plenty of fairway roll.
