Played Lochgreen 7th June 2019, 1st game on this course for a couple of years. Course used to be one of my favourites, however the condition now is very poor. The course is overrun by rabbits which are causing considerable damage, During our round did not see any groundsnen working on the course, the bunkers were poor with the faces covered in weeds and rakes missing from most bunkers. We were charged £35.00 for a midweek game which in my opinion is about £10 too much considering the state of the course and the lack of maintenance work.

You Get What You Pay For

Played last week on a trip to Scotland and as per the title 'you get what you pay for' in comparison to some of the more prestigious venues nearby.
We used it to have a knock around before playing a couple of more challenging courses over the weekend.
Pro shop staff were really friendly and a plus point.
The green fee was £31.00 and the course was wet and not in the greatest condition with rabbit holes everywhere, dog walkers everywhere and the general public using it as a shortcut to get somewhere !
The course itself is relatively wide open with not much danger of losing many bal'sl and so should suit all handicaps.
Overall the price paid was fair for what we got so I have no complaints but would not rush back to play it again.

Although Lochgreen is a good long layout, with linksy, challenging holes, I feel let down by its\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
\\\\\\\\\\\\\' greens. In September they were patchy; ridged and rough and certainly did not run true. Surely more work can be done to improve this, as neighbouring course Fullarton had smoother surfaces. The rough is fair; not too long, but wispy, giving a chance of a shot to the green. I enjoyed playing on the undulating fairways, but found putting to be a bit of a lottery. Please sort out this situation or players will go elsewhere.

Really good course, unfortunately greens were very poor, Girvan, dalmilling, and seafield/belleisle all in far better condition this season in my opinion. Play was slow also, however this down to just one three ball sliwing everyone coming behind. We only got through at the 13th.

Not my best experience at lochgreen as i have played it in far superior condition, probably the amount of rain we had recently was probably a factor in course condition.

Played the course yesterday and think the course could be a lot better than it currently is.

Generally, excellent greens and some great links type holes. I was really disappointed however with the lack of maintenance that seems to be getting carried out. Some holes are worse than others but pitch marks are everywhere some of which are days or weeks old. There also is an issue with rabbit burrows which although not the courses fault don't appear to be getting repaired quickly. Shame as course has some great potential

4hours 25minutes for a 2 ball round here is torture. Something is badly wrong here as a 2 ball and 4 ball in front of my 2 ball walked off in disgust at the slow play in front. Spoiled a good day as normally we can get round here in 3 hours easy, the change to 7 minutes between tee times might bring in a bit more money but it's not conducive to an enjoyable round of golf unless proper marshalling is introduced. And some golfers really need to be a bit more considerate and more aware of their pace or lack of it. This course needs signage detailing pace of play and slower players need to allow faster groups through or get the finger out! Simple.A decent course otherwise but expect long waits at each tee if today is anything to go by?

Being a public course you can't expect too much but reasonably well looked after. Some well laid out holes with average standard greens. Quite long with a mix of difficult and straightforward holes. The clubhouse is a bit dated but the staff are friendly and pricing reasonable.
