Interesting, but noisy
Lovely welcoming clubhouse/bar, great shop, and clean & well-maintained public areas. The course itself was in good condition overall, but there were areas that were overdue such as the fringes of the greens, which had really quite long grass on them, and some areas of rough which were needlessly long. To be fair however, the tee-boxes, fairways and greens were in excellent nick, especially considering the recent wet weather. There were quite a few four balls around, who were really quite loud and almost rowdy. No course marshalls in sight on our round. Some challenging and interesting holes, with plenty of water to get you thinking, and narrowish fairways with trees and rough down the sides, for the more unwary. Enjoyed it.Reviewer Rating

CH
£35 a round on a Sunday morning is £10 more than the advertised and listed price for what is a very ordinary course with pretty poor greens. If it says £25 on your own website and other booking sites then thats what you charge, not £35 on arrival. The greens had been spiked fair enough but overall they\'re in poor condition and the course is pretty featureless and dullReviewer Rating

Well worth a visit
A golf course where at times you need think of position and not just smash a driver down the fairway. Some really challenging holes but rewarding at the same time when you pull that one shot you are proud of. Enjoyed it will be returningReviewer Rating

What a very pleasant surprise!
Wow - first time at this course - what an absolute pearler it is! David Leadbetter uses this place as his Britrish Academy base - and it's not really surprising to see why. If you haven't played here - give it a go!Without doubt one of the best courses I've played on in a long time. Everything about the course spelled 'quality.' Greens and tee-boxes were beautifully manicured, fairways were very well crafted and nicely looked after despite the weird weather so far this year. Bunkers were in great places to catch wayward hits, and there was sand in them too! Bonus! The greens were responsive and the ball held as you pitched into them - they then putted at a manageable pace but true to the crafting of them also
Enjoyed it so much I went back the following weekend for another crack it it! And played very similarly! Haha!

Excellent course with one quibble....
This was my first visit and the course is in magnificent condition. Fairways are beautifully mowed, the greens are true and beautiful to putt on. The course layout is excellent with some lovely holes. The fairways are sometimes hard to hit on the first cut due to slopes and the narrowness of the cut, but there's plenty of space either side on most holes with the first and second cuts of rough not particularly severe. Most of the challenges are on and around the green with the exception of some good fairway bunkers. There's also an excellent putting green, driving range and short game area. The only issue were the bunkers. I managed to find three of them and they were hard and were chock full of stones. On one visit I had to drop off a pile of them for the sake of my sand wedge. Some of them weren't raked by other players, which was a disappointment. Even stranger was the fact green-keepers sheds were chock full of lovely looking stone free sand!
Other than that - excellent value for 18 quid on a glorious Friday afternoon.
