A very narrow course with a lot of tree lined fairways.
Beware of the river and the water hazards around some of the greens

Will not be revisiting.

Even through the course is in really good condition there are other factors that bring this club down.

We turned up with aa 3-ball with a 8:50am tee off. In front of us was a 4-ball, all members, then a 13 year old who plays off 14 handicap, and the 4 ball didn’t let him tee off first and also said that he wasn’t allowed to play through. Stubborn members being ridiculous. He joined our 3 to make a 4 and the round itself took forever. The rate at which these people where playing can be described as bloody slow

The course itself is in really good condition, but the greens are too small, and if you’ve never played it before, be prepared to play with no yard markers and some greens hidden away so you are playing a blind shot.

A lot of the holes overlap so you have to wait for people to tee off or for people to putt which adds more slow play.

Lastly, and this was the worst thing about the experience, we stood at the 10th with a drivable 260 par 4 in fron of us.

Myself and y friends we talking waiting for them to move from the green, when from our amazement, this 12 year old has only tee-dd off with his 5 wood and nailed one straight through the green, whizzing past this guys head.

As we walked down the guy approached the kid, screamed at him for what he did. I understand his anger but the boy was 13 years old. Before I could even intervene I was told to “shut my F**cking mouth” and “I expect this kind of thing from these clowns”. Later on in the round I received an apology but it had totally ruined the day.

Even though I played pretty well I didn’t enjoy my time spent here and I don’t think you will either

Horrible club, way too tight, sometime you have 2 holes which cross the hole you are playing on. Will never return

Golfshake Team ReviewAs you turn up to this course you cant help but think what the hell you've let yourself in for. The Bar looks like a house on a row of a busy street. But dont let this fool you. There is parking round the back of a row of houses and the pro shop is in what looks like a little cabin, however is quite big and well stocked.

Even before you get to the course you have to go over a bridge and cross the A406 but what greets you the other side is like something from a different world.

Surrounded by the motorway and tall buildings you'll soon forget about whats around you and concentrate on what is a small, compact but wonderful test of golf.

Small greens, tight fairways lay ahead with short par 4's making you want to give it a bash but beware the bunkers and long rough, anything not straight will get punished.

The greens themselves are in great condition too. Seem to be well looked after.

In places it may be difficult to find your way around from green to tee and 2 or 3 holes have blind shots, either off the tee or onto the green, but id love to go back at some point and give it another crack.

All in all a good day out.

Its short, due to the lack of space, but it's very tight and the greens are small. A real challenge. It's a much harder course than the others in the area. Fairways and greens are in good nick. Good club house and pro shop. It could do with sprucing up here and there, but overall, very good.

Very interesting course which is in great condition at the moment. Several tricky holes with small greens, which can be difficult to hit. Very friendly clubhouse with great food and bar.

Tee's in good condition, Fairway's in good condition, Greens in excellent condition with fantastic run-off area's and most greens are very undulating or 2 tiered, definitely some off the best greens in Essex. There are a couple of things that might let this course down a little and they are the course is only 5300 yards long and there are a few tee's that cross over or are very close to each other, but dont let that put you off this is a great little course and even though its on the small side you have to hit the ball straight as some of the fairway's are tight with trees that are over 100ft high lining the fairway's,it also has a couple off very good par 3s at over 200 yards long, Give it try...!!!!

A thinking mans golf coarse where you can easily leave your woods in your bag and play with your irons,on a lot of holes you only have a short iron into the green after a straight drive thats the only negative about this coarse if you could find another 1000 yards from somewhere it would be one of the best coarses in the area as the greens and run of areas are in fantastic condition and the fairways are as well.We paid £20.00 on a Saturday for a four ball which was good value. The coarse gets busy and there are many tees close together we got to the first tee in time for our tee off and there were 4 four balls all waiting to tee off so we went straight onto the back nine.
