Poor course, terrible pace of play even worse facilities

We won’t be going back - 5 hour round. The course is not a good one, very short and of little interest. They schedule far too close times and you often tee back over the previous green, waited 10-15 mins on EVERY hole.. the clubhouse is a glorified shed

Won't be going back in a hurry

Pretty little course, but lack of club house (New one is currently being built) offering no WC facilities or anywhere to get a drink was not good - We weren't informed about the clubhouse when booking and yet they still charged full price. Grumpy warden also put a downer on the round. Horrible orange grass treatment also stained literally everything!

£35 I was expecting good greens and reasonable tee boxes at least!!! \\Greens were ok, just ok. Tee boxes were shocking. \Random electrical pylons on three holes.... one along the entirety of the hole! \\Bloke in pro shop was rude and asked me and my two colleagues if we had our own clubs on three occasions !!!! “Yes mate, we are not the sort of people to turn up to a course and play with one set of clubs between three of us” \\On a plus, there were not many people out on the course and those that were were very friendly and happy to advise on where each hole was. Lucky as the course is not very well marked out. \\I’d probably never go back given that Wanstead and Hainault are just as close to me. And for\£10 a round less - piss take to charge £35 for a\Very average course! \\82 shot. 2 over handicap \\

Will not be revisiting.

Even through the course is in really good condition there are other factors that bring this club down.

We turned up with aa 3-ball with a 8:50am tee off. In front of us was a 4-ball, all members, then a 13 year old who plays off 14 handicap, and the 4 ball didn’t let him tee off first and also said that he wasn’t allowed to play through. Stubborn members being ridiculous. He joined our 3 to make a 4 and the round itself took forever. The rate at which these people where playing can be described as bloody slow

The course itself is in really good condition, but the greens are too small, and if you’ve never played it before, be prepared to play with no yard markers and some greens hidden away so you are playing a blind shot.

A lot of the holes overlap so you have to wait for people to tee off or for people to putt which adds more slow play.

Lastly, and this was the worst thing about the experience, we stood at the 10th with a drivable 260 par 4 in fron of us.

Myself and y friends we talking waiting for them to move from the green, when from our amazement, this 12 year old has only tee-dd off with his 5 wood and nailed one straight through the green, whizzing past this guys head.

As we walked down the guy approached the kid, screamed at him for what he did. I understand his anger but the boy was 13 years old. Before I could even intervene I was told to “shut my F**cking mouth” and “I expect this kind of thing from these clowns”. Later on in the round I received an apology but it had totally ruined the day.

Even though I played pretty well I didn’t enjoy my time spent here and I don’t think you will either

16 out of 18 temp greens

Played here at 9:30am and there were 16 temp greens in place (actually 18 when we started but a couple opened by the time we got to them near the end of the round).

Bit of a confusing layout, rest of course was in ok condition.

All very tight with tees crossing fairways members very rude and being made to wait why a three ball game had to play though and waiting over 15 why they played a hole that we was already playing even tho we was faster would not replay there unfortunately .

I don't like the multiple holes you have to play over/across other greens/holes, especially given the course is directed at more amateur level players. Greens were a touch patchy in places. Pace of play was incredibly slow but I hear the social in front was for a commemoration so can't complain, except one guy was constantly on his phone - if you've got more important things to do, don't play. Fee of £35 for midday Saturday is steep; there are lots of courses within 5-10miles of Ilford (of better conditions and value for money) that charge less

Don?t worry about the The Nth Circ

Adapting to urban golf. Plenty of courses are adjacent to traffic noise but block it out & enjoy what's in front of you. Enjoyed the variety. Might start getting heavier as the Autumn moves into winter but happy to return & excellent value

So Confusing but Nice course....

Five of us played today for our first time at Ilford GC. No clubhouse facilities, no marshalling and basically just the members on the course.
Great shorter course in excellent condition considering that most of Ilford were underwater about two weeks ago.
As we looked a little lost after going over a footbridge over a busy dual carriageway a couple of the members kindly directed to the starting holes and talked us through the first three holes.
The major feedback really is the layout of the course is very very confusing, any Garmin products were picking up the wrong hole and frankly so of it on a busy day (this was not thankfully) would have been dangerous in the hands of the wrong golfers.
We will be back now we know what we are doing but hopefully a clubhouse facilty will enhance the experience.
