Played with a golf society in atrocious weather conditions ( rain and strong winds) . The greens are large , true and well maintained. The fairways were a little bare due to the hot summer , however we allowed balls to be placed . Despite the weather it was a fun course.

Nice easygoing course

Played on the 16th August. Good greens and great layout and short so great for beginners as well as low handicappers. Greens were long, slow and soft to help with the hot weather and rolled pretty well. Fairways were poor which I understand is due to the hot dry weather of late, though I would normally expect a club which is fairly modern and charging £35 pp to have a irrigation system for their fairways... It really let the course down! Would play again for cheaper and in the autumn or spring.

Nice course

Great cause for people who don't hit very long balls, greens can be reached in two.

Good winter course

Good winter course, well maintained greens a little bumpy but are playable. Bunkers are in good shape.

Very good course, usually!

Even in the winter, Hurtmore is usually well drained and playable. Unfortunately at this time, not only had it had tremendous amounts of rain, but the course was also undergoing re-forming in parts, giving some of the tee-off and bunker areas a ploughed field appearance. Not my idea of fun, and quite frankly I believe the club should have been shut while the work was going on. As I say, usually it's a good course to play, both winter and summer, although I would not recommend it at this moment.

Okay

Nice Course, Pretty much straight forward with no real dangers to be aware of.
Members are friendly enough, shame about the Woman in the back office (think she is the Ladies Captain) Face like a box of frogs and very unwelcoming !.
Looks down her snooty nose at you, beware !

Nice Club

Short course however in great condition. Despite the dry weather the fairways were good and the greens very good. Food was nice, staff brilliant. Made to feel very welcome. Our round was very enjoyable. Pace of play a little slow on the front nine was a little slow however the group holding us up left the course after 9 holes. After that we were not held up. Scores we returned were great, lots of birdies and pars!

Not bad for £30

I enjoyed playing Hurtmore on the whole. It is well presented and offers a fair challenge depending on whether you can hit a long drive or not. If you are long and straight off the tee then expect birdies as this course is short, with one too many par 3's for my preference. There is only one par 5 which to be fair is a challenge, and on this day had a fairly awkward flag position on the green(I bogeyed it). Some greens are better than others in terms of surface quality, and a mix of flat and not flat. Fairways average for this time of year. My only gripe is most of the tee boxes either have a lump, or a hollow making it awkward to find a decent place to stand for your tee shot where you're not under or over the ball! Sort that out and I'd be pleased for the price I paid.

Back after a long hiatus

Haven’t played here for a while, played a summer offer including a ‘gourmet’ burger and chips beforehand. Defo not a gourmet burger. Some tee boxes are in a poor state, not level so difficult for foot position. But I’m pretty good condition overall.

Course in good nick and good value.

Here?s a course for the high handicapper to have a chance with wide fairways (generally) and therefor good scoring very possible. I played with three mates and all of us recorded level par or better scores. Conditions were very good for the time of year (early October) and clearly the course is regularly maintained and has benefited from our great summer. A pity the barman was less effusive after our round, but hey, it had probably been a long day for him as we seemed to be the last punters.
