Played on a very hot sunday morning in a society. Ive played hillbarn a # of times over the last 10 years and this is the best condition I have seen it. The greens were the best greens i have played on this year. Perfect. Fairways and tees also very good. Bunkers mostly good with soft sand in. A few mentions of stones from other players though. there are a few bland holes but also a few great ones. Stand out holes are short par 4 8th, only 255yds over a big dip with bunkers on both sides of the green. 11th a mid length par 3, 165 yds again over a big dip but with about 8 bunkers around the green. I birdied both on my day. other good holes are the very tricky 6th. Take a bogie then run to the 7th. 4th a nice short 300yd par 4 but tricky. Overall pretty dam good.

This fine downlands course is improving all the time, the greens are superb, and fairways well-cared for. There are even expectations that winter tees may not be necessary. The staff are excellent and the new teaching professional, David Fluke is very good

Great course good greenkeepers friendly staff getting very busy very slow pace on course which is disappointing. Could be my last year with cost of membership and cost of daily rate going up.

Great course greenkeepers do a fantastic job well worth a visit cost of a round is quiet expensive also membership for retired my mates and I is hard , but most cost have increased these days.????

Well worth a visit

Lovely course
Great course in Sussex downs well maintained by greenkeepers unfortunately in my retirement cannot afford new price increases coming up so won’t be able to play so often which is a shame very friendly staff.Reviewer Rating
