Not so good
The Herts course is now closed (apparently permanently) making the course overall more crowded. The course is in reasonable condition, but the greens have been over-watered in places and are of unpredictable pace. One very inconsiderate green-keeper mowing the fairways, parking in the way of play - not helpful. Overall the experience is not as good as it used to be.(Round played: Aug 2018 - Score: 105 Handicap: 29.8)

Three 9 holes equal 27 different challenges
Heydon Grange comprises three sets of 9 holes, the Essex, the Cambs and the Herts. Lots of challenges for the low and high handicapper alike. When the rough is long, staying on the fairway is very important. A big and welcoming clubhouse with friendly members and staff. Good food too. Perfect for societies looking for value for money. Always enjoy playing their abs driving through the gates and down the very long dive.Reviewer Rating

Very good value for money although the greens has been spiked and it was impossible to putt, the ball would ping off at a right angle when going towards the hole.

Interesting course near Cambridge
Heydon Grange has 3 nine-hole courses with quite a few challenges. A little windswept in winter, but has the benefit of great drainage so usually playable. Good for "Pay and Play" as well as members. Reasonable green fees.Reviewer Rating

Greens disappointing
My friend and I played at Heydon in January 2018 for the first time in two years. As always. the course was generally in good condition despite the recent wet weather. What was disappointing was the condition of the greens. We have played here before in wet conditions but the greens have been much better than they were this time. We have long given up on the food here and go elsewhere. The green value is very good value and would certainly play here agin when other courses are waterlogged / unplayable.(Round played: Jan 2018 - Score: 116 Handicap: 28)

great course in wet conditions
this course plays great when every other course is waterlogged, a fair course to play , some really good holes , just needs tidying up, and taking care of the greens.(Round played: Dec 2017 - Score: 102 Handicap: 20)

Course in reasonable condition. Greens a little slow. Bunkers as always the issue here. Very little sand in them but lots of big stones !
