Nice course

Played this on a blisteringly hot day and was thankful for the lakes so I could dip my hat in them to cool down. Nice course but will improve over time as fairly new, some nice holes with water

Good challenge

Only reopened a year ago, this is maturing nicely. They have cut back the rough beside the fairways to make it a fairer challenge for the higher handicapper. The last five holes (all new in the redesign) were the hardest for me! The greens were in good condition

Played this course with a group of about 20 from a Society, and we were all very impressed with the course, which has been closed for some time (re-opened in July 2018 I believe), and has had major changes made, to increase it to 27 holes, and also has a foot-golf course. The greens were a good speed, bunkers seemed to be well stocked, and a decent selection of tees. We were told to go off the white (competition) tees, where the total yardage is just 6011. The fairways were not too tight, but wandering into the rough was seriously penalised, even if you could find your ball, as the rough is VERY long. Our Society normally has breakfast, but this was not an option, although we did have bacon rolls which were very good. Tea and coffee were included with our price, which I believe was ?28.00 for a Saturday morning society round. Pace of play was also good, although I did feel some of the players around the course were somewhat noisy, not caring about other players nearby. The bar is also quite small, and would probably struggle to cope with more than 40 people. I will definitely be going back, and hopefully playing better! Chipping and putting greens were open, but the 2 driving nets were cordoned off when we were there.

Fantastic Cource well worth visiting

Very well looked after, challenging course -- some holes target golf some a bit more forgiving. Just don't go into deep rough ball disapears

A liitle Gem

Played here in very testing conditions, cold, extremely windy but still a lot of fun. Good Course layout, plotting your way round is essential and I think I will do better with some course knowledge.

The course has reopened and it is well worth playing. They have done a great deal of work and while the paths need further work it is much improved. The value is excellent and it deserves to do well. Long and not that easy it is a good test.

Mr

Played there yesterday and pleasantly surprised with the quality of the course and its lay out.
There was a bit of wind and a lot of roll on the hard ground which made it difficult.
The greens were excellent and I can only see the course improving ,but its a tough test if not on your best game .

Impressed

I played the previous 9-Hole version here quite a few times, just prior to the closure for refurb, but never the full 18 before that.
I was very impressed with the new layout, new holes and the condition of the course. Yes it will need a little time to bed in, but is still an interesting and challenging course to play now.
Most greens are a challenge, not only to approach but then the challenging undulations. I especially enjoyed the front 8 holes, the 8th itself that runs alongside the 1st is a lovely looking hole that requires a bit of thought off the tee due to strategically placed hazards.
We played it twilight for £12, so great value too. Will definitely be back regularly.

Played this course before it closed and been watching it being re-built on there social media sites and was looking forward to the day they re-opened. Played it on the 15th Aug and spoke to a lovely lady at the desk who was very helpful and answered all my questions about the club. There is currently no bar as they refurbishing it and waiting for a license. The layout is really nice and has a great balance of tough holes and also holes that will reward you for good shots. It is an open golf course so the wind will play a factor on some of the holes and club selection is vital. As they have only been opened a month and the amount of sun we have had the fairways are pretty decent, the rough needs time to grow a little as it pretty easy to hit shots out of it. The greens again are pretty decent for only being opened for a month, the speed was just below medium pace but I feel with time they will get quicker and be lightening quick. When hitting onto the green the ball stops nicely so don't be afraid to go for the flag. You won't have to worry about pace of play as there not many people playing due to it being a newly opened. Overall it's a decent course at the moment but I feel it will be get better with time and the price you pay for it at the moment I'd say its a bargain
