What the club says: Founded in 1993 and set in 240 acres of beautiful meadowland, boasting spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, Great Hadham will offer a warm welcome and a challenge to golfers of all abilities.
Our 18 hole Championship Course, has several elevated tees giving great views and whilst you will relish the opportunity to really let rip from these tees, be aware of the hazards that are carfully placed around the course to offer real risk and reward for those who take it on! Course in good condition especially considering the recent weather. Greens recently sprayed / fed, playing a little slower than usual. Rough getting very long. Fairways ready for a cut. Staff friendly and helpful. Good selection of refreshments in clubhouse.o

Quirky course

Dont buy a Sandwich
Played it during a Soceity day & enjoyed it but the course was so dry you had to land it about 50 yards short & hope it bounced the right way!!, order a Cheese & pickley Sandwich cost ?4.95 one half was dry/hard & was worth at most ?1 not happy or impressed.Reviewer Rating

Defo a lot of investment going on. I heard they are replacing 3 bunkers a year greens are getting better and drying out nicely. I would like them to roll the approaches as these can be unpredictable

Enjoyable round
My friend and I played at Great Hadham in December 2021/ We had played here a couple of times but not for three years. In that time, improvements have been made to the course so we were keen to try the out the course. The course is quite challenging for a high handicapper like myself but not too much so. There are a few interesting holes though there are a number of holes that seem a bit samey. The course was in good condition despite the recent wet weather - the fairways were only wet in a few places and the bunkers have improved dramatically since we last played.The clubhouse is a bit unprepossessing from the outside but is really nice inside. The pro shop is well stocked and the bar and eating area is both large and airy. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was good.
We will definitely play there again.

Course in decent condition especially the greens albeit they are a little slow. Some work needed on a couple of tees and that is in progress.
Not many bunkers but off the fairway the first cut is quite thick so not easy to escape from. If you go into the heavy rough make sure you take a provisional as you will be lucky to find your first ball!
In the last 2 years there has been a big improvement in this course. Definitely worth another visit if you havent tried since 2019.

Course is ok, for me it needs improvement on the layout and the fairways, can be big down on certain holes but never the less this is a course that destroy a round by one bad shot, particularly on the front 9.

Potential but average course
Been playing here for years, some time ago they changed the layout meaning back 9 is now font 9.Some good holes here especially par 3?s however some temp tees in summer isn't great, glass like unkept fairways and building works still happening over many years, was a foot golf venue, now has lodges onsite, all very odd.
One to consider though not amazing

DELIGHTFUL COURSE IN HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTRYSIDE
STAFF ARE VERY FRIENDLY. FOOD AND DRINK AVAILABLE AFTER ROUND ONLY AT MOMENT. COURSE IN GOOD CONDITION, FAIRWAYS REASONABLE WITH EXCELLENT GREENS. A COUPLE OF AREAS STILL NEED WORK BUT OVERALL A DELIGHTFUL COURSE TO PLAY. ROUGH DIFFICULT FOR WAYWARD HITTERS! BUNKERS ARE REGULARLY RAKED AND COURSE MARSHAL'S TRY AND ENSURE SPEED OF PLAY IS SENSIBLE.(Round played: Jul 2020 - Score: 90 Handicap: 15.8)

Lovely local course
Very well kept course. Clubhouse needs some work though. Was building work nearby not sure if they were building something new. But a good course and greens well maintained during a hot season.(Round played: Jun 2020 - Score: 90 Handicap: 17.3)

This could soon become one of the nicest courses around. Considering the time of year and recent weather conditions it is playing really good at the moment and I think in the coming months it will become an excellent course.
Add that to a friendly clubhouse and very reasonable green fees, recommended.

In good order
Very forgiving course, wide fairways, dry after some rainy days.You have to be pretty wayward to get into trouble. Greens very good condition most are fairly flat and seem to be consistent on pace hit it at hole it goes in (28 putts).(Round played: Oct 2019 - Score: 85 Handicap: 22.3)
