Most Helpful Review
Ash Valley is a course I have played for the past 3 years. Being a new course (1994) it has come on very well, set in the rolling Hertfordshire countryside there isn't a boring hole in sight! The course condition is above average, what you would expect when paying such affordable green fees, the staff and members are always very welcoming and its perfect for those wanting a nice quiet round. Lovely cousre very up and down in some places.......Club house is very basic.
Good value for money if your going for the twilight rate.
Still needs a bit of work here and there.
As others have said...this course is perfect for begineers. - Jun 13 2010
Golf Course Reviews for Ash Valley Golf Club
(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 108 Handicap: 24.9)
Ash Valley is a small club, but makes up for this in the warmth of the welcome and the lack of restrictions on tee times. Membership and green fees for "Pay and Play" are both excellent value for money, and the club professional goes out of his way to be helpful. Being built on clay sub-soil, parts of the course can get rather wet in winter, but this only adds to the challenge.
Played here on a glorious Morning In June. For £15 for 18 holes it's an absolute bargain. Greens could do with a bit of work (they are true but one or two are a bit bare) and it's a long old course but it's really enjoyable to play. FOr the money it's worth every penny.

A bit claggy and very little bounce, so quite challenging but enjoyable
