Although I have played Girvan many times over the years it is always a tricky course with the weather playing a part.

Worth a visit

Was pleaseasantly surprised by this small course ( par64) tucked away amongst the houses yet nestling up against the Irish Sea. Turnberry's famous courses are about a mile away and although Girvan is not in the same league it is an interesting golf course .The first 8 run along the coast and whilst mostly par 3 's they do offer a challenge as most are over 220 yards. The back 9 switches to parkland . All the rough is penal and straight hitters are advised to leave the driver in the back. Greens were in excellent condition. The starter Graham - first class
The clubhouse looked after by Fiona when I was there ensured a warm welcome and the locals joined in the golf conversation
Altogether a pleasant experience completed in brilliant sunshine

A lovely, yet fairly short course. Have played the course before and no doubt will play it again, when next in the area.

The wind played a big part on our round. The course is well laid out although the rough could do with some attention in parts. No yardage markers are visable,go by the yardage on your score card.Apart from this the course is in good condition.

This was the first time on this course, and so close to the coast, front 8 were challenging, only lost 2 balls, both on the same hole. From there the 9th and back nine are a little easier if you can drive straight. Would play again now I know the hazzards.

Third time playing Girvan G.C. Friendly welcome at Starters office, and allowed an earlier tee-off. Great wee course, although the greens may have done with an extra cut.

Played twice last week on a trip to Scotland. 8 holes of links are immaculate, and the 10 parkland offer a different test. Really like some of the quirky finishing holes. great value, only downside is a clubhouse renovation meant no after round drink but I can live with that. Really do recommend you try this, but no driver required.

Short but fairly challenging wee course. For a municipal it is a really nice course, especially the front 8 links holes.
