Decent track
Played here loads of times and although the changes haven't quite needed in yet it's still a decent course and is always open.Reviewer Rating

Poor condition
Course was in quite poor condition. What's even more disappointing is that after consulting Golf Shake after making the initial booking I called the Pro Shop back the day before to check the course was fully open with 18 greens which he said was the case. On the day we had 2 temps which we weren't told about before play and all but 2 tees were well forward which were patches of mud. Patchy and grassy greens, some soaked in parts and like others have said buggies shouldn't be allowed out so parts of the course are battered. You can appreciate they are working on the course but they should let you know beforehand what's going on so you know going in and if anything they should be limiting the numbers to get it back into some decent shape for the summer. I definitely won't return this year and find myself hard pressed to see myself playing here in the future. Played here a handful of times and there's a few decent holes on the course but a 4 hour and 20 minute round in a 3 ball is the icing on the cake.Reviewer Rating

Should have been closed!!
This is a lovely course in a nice setting however whilst we were very grateful for the opportunity to play, the course should have been closed as the damage done was significant- buggies should definitely have been banned as inconsiderate users were driving them across fairways and leaving big tracks on them. I hope they don't put taking money over making sure the long term condition isn't ruined.Reviewer Rating

Amazing metamorphosis!
Our first return to the Club since it's recent changes. The Hole changes are very positive. Still lots of work going on around the course but a great improvement to what was already a fantastic course. By the time spring comes around it will be brilliant. As s 2 ball, the 4ball ahead of us on the 1st tee asked us to tee off ahead of them and we were let through by another friendly group of members on the 6th.
We took advantage of the breakfast inclusive deal at the end of our 2 hour 35 minute round and basically had the best breakfast we've enjoyed at any golf course in the last year.
The Brand New cosy pro shop still had a few sales items on display so even a bit of retail therapy came in to play- We both can't wait to return.

Frosham getting better
Been going to Frodsham for a couple of months. The club house has been sold and the club is changing to a course. Over the past couple of month the course has had some work, but due to the high amount of rain, and winter visitors, a few areas are a little boggy, some of the greens need some work. Overall the new cowshed (pub) and pro-shop are great, the pro said the course is going through a transition, with more work to be done. This is a good sign, most importantly the price is really affordable, so makes playing golf more accessible to the public and non members who just want to have a round of golf without the huge fees others clubs charge for visitors/members. If they keep the direction the pro has mentioned, this course should be great in the springtime. It has some way to go, but when you see monthly improvements it bodes well. The excessive amount of winter visitors at the weekend doesn't really help the wet ground, but it's open and challenging. I've been to a couple of other courses, with prices at double and triple the price, and they were only a fraction better. Time will tell for Frodsham, hope they transition well.Reviewer Rating

Chernoyl
Like the Chernobyl of golf, abandoned buggies, broken signs, mud everywhere, sloping tee boxes clearly positioned by a none golfer, bunkers like concrete, one green was like a swamp and had half of it OOB, huge roped off no go areas. Needs to shut for a few weeks to sort it out, keep taking peoples money but not reinvesting it, its like the place has been abandoned but you can still sneak in and use it. On the plus side I did get a good bacon toastie but now have radioactive poisoning.Reviewer Rating

Such a shame
Played on Sep 4th 2019. Had a chat with the pro before we went out who told me the club was going through a huge transition, new clubhouse, green keeping staff etc and that the course was probably 6/10 at the moment. Well I only wish he was my old schoolteacher marking my work coz I’d have got 10/10 every time if he felt the course was a 6. Firstly this is a really well laid out course with some good holes and a fair test of golf. Unfortunately the course condition is shocking. Every bunker should be GUR, there are no rakes but that’s probably because there is no sand to rake. The greens are average at best and very slow. To cap it all the clubhouse was offering a bare minimum of food and my mate had an anaemic chip butty. They should not be taking money off paying customers at the moment. I look forward to going back after this transition phase.Reviewer Rating
