Course Closed?
Don’t pay to play this course, unkept and uncut, greens full of debris, fairways getting overgrown, no staff or sign of life. Turn up and pay for free if you like rustic golf. Tees are mostly useable and flags still in. Looked to be a lovely course as well!Reviewer Rating

Frodsham golf course
Unfortunately due to poor management this course is ruined. The land is currently for sale and the clubhouse has already been sold to a children’s nursery. Although a cheap round, it was spoilt by terrible greens, poor tee areas and a lack of common sense used when current management have made decisions on how to reduce costs by cutting corners with course maintenance. Anyone returning to the course after playing it a couple of years ago will no doubt be shocked by the now shabby experience they will get.I do feel sorry for the owner as with some intelligent input and finance arrangements the course should have been a success- I feel now it is beyond redemption.Reviewer Rating

Arrived knowing the difficult times the club has found themselves in in recent years. I was aware of the clubhouse being sold and wasn’t expecting it to be to the high standards of old….. however I wasn’t prepared for what we played. In fact if it’s a game of golf you want don’t bother. If it’s a knock about with mates and you couldn’t care less about your game/course/score or golf in any context then it’s fine.
The layout of the old course is very good with some interesting holes but what you find now is a mown field with flags in. The greens, well there aren’t any to be honest. A great shame for the former members of what once was a great club which has clearly been ruined by greed.
Not the kind of place to go if you take the game half serious (even though there was a flash Harry there PXG’d to the eyeballs). All topped off by a packet of frazzles floating on the 18th pond.
Genuinely hope this place gets back to what it once was it’s such a shame to see it as it is currently.

Great course but a disgrace.
Played this course last year and course was very poor in particular the Greens. Decided to try again this year what a disappointment. Even thought restrictions have been lifted there were no toilet facilities and the club house was closed. No buggies were available as the ones not on course were all broken. I will not go into the attitude of the man in the starter shed other than to say he needs some customer service training . I like the layout of the course and some great holes with views but i found quite a few bunkers none off which i could play out of hard as rocks not raked and full of weeds . I wont be giving this course another chance .Reviewer Rating

Great course except the greens
Unfortunately the state of the greens really let this course down this time. Have played a number of times but the greens were never patchy or bare in all parts.(Round played: Jul 2020 - Score: 97 Handicap: 24.4)

Very Disappointing, greens shocking
I've played this course off and on for years. Not very often, but at least once a year. Normally a good fair challenge, nothing outstanding but a decent knock. I played on Fathers Day and all I can say is I was shocked. The greens have been destroyed, they are unplayable. They are covered in large patches where the grass has died. Putting was a lottery with the ball jumping around all over the place as it hit a patch of grass, then bounced off bare earth. I'd be surprised if this course is open next year.(Round played: Jun 2020 - Score: 97 Handicap: 18.4)

Sad times at Frodsham
15 years ago, Frodsham was an excellent course & clubhouse. Known for being a long & challenging course will fantastic greens.Fast for to 2020, no clubhouse, shocking greens, new path made with a knife & fork... honestly, it's so sad to see!

Good To Be Back But At What Cost
Really tough to say but the course is in dreadful nick. Understandable with the weather and possibly skeleton staff but greens were unplayable. No grass on them at all. Just dry, cracked dirt and dust. Putts would literally turn 45 degrees when it hit a lump/bump. We all agreed that we feared for the future of the course as we couldn't see it getting better for a long time as the greens were literally bare.(Round played: May 2020 - Score: 88 Handicap: )
