The course was not in good condition. The grass was too long, there were many leave making the loss of golf balls a frequent event. The greens were not good. Clubhouse was fine.

Played a 2 day comp here, fairways and greens good and well kept, ball cleaners broken, toilet seat lying on the floor of club toilets, when I reported this to the bar man a member pointed out that it had been there 2 weeks, the barman just shrugged, it was still there the next day. Shame as it has great potential.

Had a weekend break there end of October 15. Course was fair for when it was. Greens were in good condition, still firm and fast.
Only real criticism was that the hotel, bar and pro shop were in 3 separate buildings.
Nothing to do with the golf is that the town is awful. 4 pubs and all rubbish.

It is some time since I last played this course and it is apparent that a lot of work has gone into improving its playability. The rough is now nicely graded so slightly offline shots are not as severely punished. The fairways are pretty good and the greens and bunkers well maintained. The greens are a little slow but the upside of that is that well hit approach shots will hold. Unfortunately, although there are a lot of ball cleaners, we couldn't find one with any water in it and although a lot of bins are provided there was a lot of litter and plastic bottles on the course.

The course was very wet in all areas! But then it is winter and although wet under foot all the greens were open and playable, the fairways are being cut up - why don't people put their divots back? Anyway friendly staff, good food and comfortable rooms, will be going back later this year
