Great layout
Great layout, and good value as got a 30 perc discount. Course was very busy as it was a 12.30 tee time. Very slow pace of play in front. Course in great condition. But wouldnt, in my opinion, be worth paying ?40 a round as it should have been.Reviewer Rating

First time since the Potters takeover
Booked as a threesome on Saturday morning. Looking forward to seeing the changes that Potters have made to Five Lakes. Much better Pro Shop very pleasant welcome talked to one or two ladies members who said the changes were for the better..First up the Tenth is now the first, very windy conditions and a lost ball on the first tee. Great...not
Anyway the course and greens were very good and as good as I remebered, challenging and scenic. Some very thick temporary tee boxes (where you cannot actually put a tee into? Anyways had a really enjoyable round with some old friends, my golf was not good but I enjoyed the Potters course and the new Bar and restuarant (panini and coffee was nice) . Would definiitely come again but maybe during the week.

Course in very reasonable condition for time of year apart from bunkers which were mostly waterlogged. Very enjoyable round with no delays in 3 1/2 hours

Superb course
Not easy course. Lot of rough along side of fairway. Once the ball goes in long grassit was impossible to rescue penalty points

A Nice place
A nice course, the greens are a bit bumpy at the moment. The bar staff and pro shop staff are friendly and helpfull(Round played: May 2021 - Score: 88 Handicap: 13.3)

Pleasantly surprised
A group of 8 of us played the Lakes Course at Five Lakes . I have moved to Colchester just over a couple of years ago and those I had spoken to had not given very favourable reports of Five Lakes . There were a large number of golfers playing both courses mainly society golfers . Pace of play was ok , greens in good conditions , fairways were no worse than other courses I have played after this dry Summer . I would not want to be a member at Five Lakes as seemed most of the trade were societies and would not be great turning up at 2pm as a member and finding yourself behind all these . I would certainly play the course again .Reviewer Rating

Tuesday Club at Five Lakes
A very blustery but sunny day at 5 lakes. This was the Lakes course and was in very good condition, greens in good condition although the approach first cut in my opinion was a little long. A very pleasant golf experience overall despite the fact there was no food at the hotel which was a litlle frustrating..(Round played: Jul 2020 - Score: 97 Handicap: 20.2)

The Links Course Five Lakes
Relatively easy course to play. Very nice sunshine and conditions to play in, signage directing you to course and practice facilities could be more prominent and easier to see.(Round played: Sep 2019 - Score: 90 Handicap: 20.4)

A Hot one at 5 Lakes
A very straight course with very little contour. As I am a high handicapper I used my driver on 16 of the holes. Much better value in the afternoon as it is half price. Paid ?25 for an 8am tee off. Weather was excellent shot 41 on the back nine, so very please with that, included a birdie on the par 3 hole 15. Also it is stroke indies 8 so scored a rare 5 points????.Reviewer Rating

Nice course

Five Lakes - Links
Mid June 19' and course is in fantastic condition. Especially the greens. Definite a 8 out of 10. Only gripe was having to repair over golfers divots on the greens.(Round played: Jun 2019 - Score: 92 Handicap: 18.3)
