Played today after all the rain at the weekend, although relatively short the course is very interesting and the greens were good. Really enjoyed the back 9 as it was longer and I got my game going! Well worth a visit as great value for money on the twilight deal.

Decided to play here to use up a Greenfree voucher before the end of the year.Hadn't played here for a while and the course is definitely on the up.Whilst a little on the short side it has an interesting mix of holes and a very interesting finishing hole that can catch the unwary and could be a round wrecker.Sadly it was raining and not the best day to play golf but the course was in pretty good nick considering the time of year and for a tenner was a real bargain. It is a course we will certainly play again and well worth a play if you are in the area.

Have played fairly regularly over the summer. The club is friendly and welcoming. Course reasonably short and flat so suitable for seniors. and beginners. Nevertheless some challenging holes. Accuracy off the tee is essential. Greens currently in excellent condition.

Played this course for first time today (Aug 2014) I really enjoyed it, greens ran nicely and fairways were in great condition.
I thought the layout was good, giving a wide variety of different club selection off each tee.
It's the type of course where you need to work out a certain route toward the green, with plenty of trees, bunkers and water hazards you can't just straight line it to the hole.
Very suitable for beginners like myself as it's quite flat, wide fairways and a great price at £10 through Teeofftimes.co.uk
Will definitely play here again.

With all the bad wether we've had it was a surprise to find the course open but even with the weather it played really well. The sunshine was a pleasant bonus

A good value for money course. The greens and fairways are in good nick and although it is a short course it provides a good challenge with numerous trees, bushes, ponds and ditches to be overcome. It also has a good shop and an on site pub which provides good food and drink which are both run by friendly and welcoming staff.

We played Ferndown on golf tour to Bournemouth. The course presentation was superb, one of the best courses I have played on. Greens were pretty quick, there had been a major comp the weekend before we played so they had slowed them down a bit but still fast. Beautiful scenery around the course. Friendly welcome in the clubhouse and pro shop.

Pretty unlucky with the greens this morning - More sand than Bournemouth beach! Other than that played ok as this was our first time playing the course. Would play again

Played there on 4 November after a lot of rain the day before. The course has had a lot of work done on it in the last 18 months and I was extremely impressed with the course conditions. The front 9 is relatively short and there are some decent opportunities for birdies. The back 9 is longer and tougher, with the focus on well placed tee shots rather than distance. The final hole is a relatively short par 5, allowing a well hit tee shot an iron into a tight green with a river following in front of the green. The greens are true and in light of the recent rainfall, there was no standing water, although the odd green was wet. Overall, its a great course with a lot of work being put into it to improve it. I paid £10 for the round today and it was worth every penny.

Played over the bank holiday and considering the rain it was in good condition. Greens have come on leaps and bounds. The course starts with 6 relatively shirt holes which require good course management but then turns in to a full length good test of golf with two huge par 5's on the back nine. The second of those is the 18th which is a great risk and reward hole over water to a green in front of the clubhouse. Thoroughly recommend for anyone looking for a change of scenery.

Played on a wet winters day didn't make for a great score, on the other hand we only payed a tenner so that was a bargain. Although only a short par 68 track its not easy and in some places is very tight indeed. It has to be said its not the greatest course by and means but its great for beginers and seniors as its nice and flat and the price is amazing. Also the head pro Steve Pockneall is a great guy and an excellent teacher.

Cheap, but short and not in great condition

An odd little course. Only cost £20 for 18 holes so it is good value, but it is inferior to other local courses.
Some very short par 3's made things difficult for me, playing only my second round in the last 15 years, as even my PW was too much club.
The course isn't in great condition, however the rough is forgivingly short.
The driving range is very goof though - many bays with trackman.

Serious Safety Issues

We were looking forward to our round at Ferndown Forest but sadly had to walk off after just 5 holes to ensure our own safety. The Club has packed fairways next to each other and greens one hedge width away from a tee box. Also many players are still learning so balls are literally going everywhere. In addition the netting on the range is too low and balls are regularly flying out at head height across the 1st fairway. If you were able to view the holes in isolation then this could be a fun course but the risk of being hit by a ball on each fairway isn't worth the risk - particularly when there are many other lovely golf courses nearby. We did raise safely concerns with the pro shop who just shrugged. Definitely wont be going back
